Breakfast Topic: How's 2.2 treating you?
Players on US and EU realms have all had a couple of days of playtime in Blizzard's latest release -- patch 2.2. And though all we're hearing about recently is the upcoming changes in patch 2.3, but patch 2.2 is what we're all playing right now. I'm guessing we've all had enough playtime to come to our own conclusions, so I'm asking what you think of patch 2.2! Are you loving the new voice chat feature (it's not running on my realm yet, so I can't comment), annoyed with issues in the battlegrounds, or find it impossible to deal with the new delay on auction house profits? We want to know -- tell us about your 2.2 experience.

The sound in the game seems much better to me. Is it my imagination, or is the music different in several of the inns?

Apart from completely fucking up my UI and forcing me to spend a few hours getting it right again, I think 2.2 is cool. Cleared the newly nerfed Heroic Black Morass last night, it was a walk in the park.

* Didn't felt a big DPS decrease due to the haste nerf.
* Good to get the old world chants from the TBC fractions.
* Nice new flask from the VE.
* Got stuck in AV when the battle ended (at least we won:).
* Got HUGE laggs trying to run BM with guildies (all the grp was lagging like hell).
* Pissed like hell for moving the mech chests.
* Too many bugs, too little substance (didn't got the voice chat yet), after such an extensive test period they really should have done it better. It's blizz - not Microsoft.

I try to stay away from the "blizz bashing" but I have to grumble a bit on this patch.
First of all; it took forever. The only real "major" changes that I've seen is the Voice chat. I played with it on the PTR and I just don't see the big deal. There were lots of options available elsewhere (Vent..etc) that are still much better than the offical in-game chat. I didn't see a big uproar demanding this feature from the player base; if they wanted voice they used one of the other options. /shrug
The other changes are all minor and I don't see anything that justified the long time it took to generate this patch.
Lastly, the "last minute change" to the AH is bullshit. I don't believe for a second that this was a last minute change so they didn't have time to get it in the patch notes until release. They knew full well that this was going to implemented. They didn't want to deal with the uproar from most of the players about it, so they snuck it in the patch and didn't announce it until it went live.
Notice how they are trying to deflect some of the anger from the player base by "dangling the carrot" and announcing a bunch of decent changes in 2.3 patch? Coincidental? Anything is possible...but it's nice how it's taken people's minds off the shit patch we just got.

Post patch, Auctioneer seems to be unhappy when you try to change the size and number of stacks you are trying to sell.
If I drag four Large Venom Sacs into the 'Post Auction' window, and try and change the auction from '4x1' to '2x2', the auctions are not posted. I get the message in my log that '0 auctions of Large Venom Sacs were posted' and the stuff is bags in my bags. I have to exit the auction window and re-enter it to post the goods, after splitting the sale goods in my bag.

@2 I believe this is true, though have not noticed it myself. I think it was mentioned in some of the patch notes.

Mod breaks aside (we all expect them anyway), the new buffs to Blessing durations and the Hammer of Wrath cast/cooldown outweigh the minor nerfs to sacrifice and freedom.
Also, I discovered another undocumented Paladin bugfix last night when I realized Blessing of Protection no longer prevents us from casting Judgement (which it was in 2.1).

For me (as a casual), patch 2.2 was ALL about the voice chat and since my server isn't going live with voice chat for another week and a half (apparently) I don't really consider it patch 2.2, more like 2.1 and a few tweaks/bugfixes.

I am uncertian, but on my balance Druid something seems wrong with my mana efficiency...more than usual I mean. I am wondering if my Insightful Earthstone Diamond is procing correctly anymore...
other than that, Could not be happier with what we got. I actually have my sound turned up more now so I can hear all these little new tidbits.

All I can say is
Alterac Valley!
I haven't seen that many Horde rush out of the cave since the time the 2 fat taurens were eating baked beans in there.
We had 40 Horde enter... We had 40 Horde leave the cave. Honor points flying everywhere... and we had a 3 hour AV, so it was getting -closer- to the good old days once again!

Only grumble I have with the patch is the fact that Blizzard removed a little known reputation trick so one could be friend supposed opposing enemies like the Centaurs. Thankfully for me I found out in time, and was able just before the patch went live brought Bloodsail from Honored (Which I got doing the hard way) to Revered, and taking Gelkis Centaur from 0/36000 Hated to Honored, with Magram at Revered. Now that the trick is gone, people will never be able to be friendly with both centaur clans, or Ravenholdt and Syndicate, and have to take the long hard way for Bloodsail. I realize this is only important to those crazy about rep, but I didn't see why they wanted to take the option away seeing it didn't give the player any advantage in the grand scheme of things.
Still after kill over 12,000 Centaur in only a few weeks, I never want to see another Centaur for the rest of this year at the very least!!!

@7:BoPr always did that, you just had to be attacking your target when you cast the Blessing.
Candina@WH Sep 28th 2007 9:26AM
Got stuck in AV three times. /afk gets you out, without the deserter debuff after the match.
Had an AV crash out from under me.
Had some sound issues with casting sounds going away.
Other than that /shrug.

2.2, aka the Ras Frostwhisper Patch, is probably the worst patch so far. Introduced almost nothing new, broke all kinds of things... 2.3 on the other hand. Now there's a patch.

I think the new patch was terrific! I like it a lot.

the AH thing is fuckin horseshit. that needs to change, asap. only ogther issue im having is CT mod doesnt work. they updated on patch day as usual, but their shit still is all fucked up. they have yet to fix their fix.

I'm neutral on the patch overall.
Good: New Enchanting recipes. I like that the old AQ20 enchants are now available using BC mats. That's a good change.
Bad: The sound engine. It doesn't sound as good to me subjectively, and I've heard nothing but complaints about it from guildies. It even hoses up Ventrilo - you have to load Vent before WoW or the sound doesn't work right in Vent.
So overall? Meh.
