WoW Moviewatch: The 2.2 Spectral Tiger

Sure, we've seen video of the ultra-rare Spectral Tiger Mount before. So why am I showing you new footage? Because as of patch 2.2, the Spectral Tiger's graphics have changed. And a lot of people who have had the luck (or money!) to acquire their own Spectral Tiger, the change, which altered the look of the mount's armor, is not an improvement. Blizzard, on the other hand, maintains that the change is actually a bug-fix and makes the tiger look like their initial promotional screenshots. And, tiger-owners or not, what do you think? Is the new look for the better or worse?

I hate how 4 out of every 5 WoW videos has a heavy metal soundtrack.

I'm on the fence on this change. While the tiger seems to glow more, especially in the right light, with the toned down armor color I do miss the way the armor stood out as sheer black-like, before.
In Darn, the Spectral Tiger is downright blinding due to the lighting.

I like the new look personally, but I know I'll never ride one, and probably never even see one in-game. It seems like the new armor has more texture/definition?

Ewww... I definitely prefer the previous version better. They should've just put the lightning around the black armor - it would've provided more contrast and wouldn't be so blinding. I'd be pretty sad if I'd paid for one of these and they made that drastic a change to the model.

I never saw the first version but did see the new one last night in Iron Forge. -(Gorgonnash) what an awsome mount to have that for sure!

It doesn't matter what we think of some of the outrageous mount, armor, weapon, etc designs. It's all about pleasing the Asian customer base (and no I don't mean Asian-American)

Personally I think it looks way better in the 2.2 patch, the lighter armor looks much cooler then the dark armor.

The darker armor looks like a graphics bug - the details are obscured. I dun see what they're complaining about. Especially if it matches the promo materials.

On the topic itself, although I don't own one, I kinda like the new version. Then again, I'd be happy to own either one. Saw one in Org a week ago and it's sweet.

I neither have this mount nor have it seen on my Server (Draenor) so far. But I know some people who worked really hard on grinding for weeks for a special pet or mount. I pretty much can imagine that it will be a shock to see that the so wanted mount has a different look now. I cannot quite understand why blizzard couldn't create a new mount that can be obtained within the game instead.

I have one and prefer the new look by far. I got it a couple weeks before 2.2 and was anxiously awaiting the patch to get the new look.
The problem with the old black armor is it had virtually no texture definition at all. The new one is very sharp, has more glow, better textures, and more armor than regular epic cats.
The mount even has different mount/dismount and damage/fall sounds than a regular cat.
I have to ignore most tells about where it comes from because there's too many, and if i simply reply "TCG" they need some long-winded explanation. All it takes is clicking on me, seeing the buff and then going to wowhead.

Wah! QQ. Puhleeese, people will complain about the dumbest things.
My shoulders are too small, my spectral tiger looks stoopid, etc., etc., etc.
If they don't like it then roll a different race, get rid of the tiger and ride a different mount.
Better yet, go to EQ2 or some other game.

Yes! they fixed the stupid looking teeth.. That's all I care about the sppectral tiger with the black fangs looked stupid
