Breakfast Topic: Your favorite silly things
Anyone who has ever played World of Warcraft for any length of time knows that the game is strewn with pop culture references and goofy things you do or receive. There are quests that remind us of Nintendo (Mario, Luigi and Link in Un'Goro Crater), references to songs ("Deep Ocean, Vast Sea", the now-gone male Troll /silly about "killed two Dwarves") and comics (like "Doomulus Prime" in Silithus) from everyday life. As a Rogue, I've pick-pocketed many silly items (Gnome Effigies and Steamy Romance Novels) and there are even some fairly silly debuffs in game like the "Bad Poetry" one you get from the actors backstage near the Opera event. (For those who haven't run Kara, "Bad Poetry" puts you to sleep.)With all the many things in game to enjoy (aside from the just the game itself) our topic this morning is on the sillier aspects of the game. For me, one really big stand-out was when I was doing the Warlock quest in Felwood and summoned El Pollo Grande <The Black Chicken of Death> -- a great big crazy chicken who promptly tried to eat my face. Another one that still makes me giggle is any time a new guild-mate runs through the Bone Wastes and has to do the Fumping quests. (Complete with Dune references, of course) Dwarves that like to bang a drum? I can get behind that!
How about you? What are some real-life references, or just general goofiness in WoW that's made you stop and laugh out loud? Did you guys screen-shot them too, or is that just me?

Haris Pilton and Tinkerbell in Lowercity made me laugh for a second. As well as Shauly Pore in Netherstorm.

Seeing a gnome female with little red riding hoods cape from Karazhan made me chuckle

- Groundskeeper Wyllithen in Duskwitter Grounds, Eversong Woods.
(If ever a Simpsons reference there was, this one made me laugh.)
- The Alliance quest that (sorry, cant remember the name of it) rewards you with the Chicken pet. Having you strut around spamming the /chicken emote, and generally looking like a total ass.
- Sprok (NPC) in Gnomeregan. God, I'm a trekkie! O.o
- Grimesilt Outhouse. Poor bugger gets locked in a stinky hole in the ground. But while he's there, wants you to bring him 15 [Silk Cloth] for '...nothing."
- The Gnome astronaut guy in Area 52, who when talking with the other couple that are close by, starts rhyming off lyrics from "Rocket Man" by Elton John and Bernie Taupin.
Really, theres just too many for me to list.
GG Blizzard, for not only your incorporation of pop-culture to the game...but for having a really good sence of humor!

The dancing murlocs in Zangarmarsh, hands down.

I ran into a guy who had a blue one-handed mace called...
The Fight Club. It was great...
Only problem is I'm not supposed to talk about it...

"The stoppable force", still makes me chuckle every time I see it

I was questing in Burning Steppes yesterday and came across a quest with a fantastic name. (I've probably done it before but forgotten about it).
[53] Ogre Head On A Stick = Party

I liked the content in Toshey's ? Station in the Blade Edge mountains in outland.
The station's quests are right out of star wars (picking up the power converters) and the Gnome in charge of defense is right out of Starship troupers "kill the bugs"

The items (I think for skinner/leatherworkers) that used to belong to "Finkle Einhorn" - Ace Venutra anyone?

Personally I thought the reference to Top Gun in the Dragonmaw Races, where you have to race against Mulverick and Ichman, where fun. Done when grinding Netherwing rep.

I'm a huge trekkie, and I loved the NPCs in Exodar named after five of the nine lives of Dax.

I've always been rather partial to Grimlok in Uldaman or Houndmaster Loksey in Scarlet Monestary Library.

They took away "I kill two dwarves"??? Aw man...well, so much for me ever rolling a troll again...I loved that one so much...
I also miss a few of the BC jokes that were previewed but disapeared. The female dranei had a few more anti-gnome ones that went bye-bye.
Other great ones:
The Islander
FRUIT VENDOR!!!
the Dune quest chain in Bone Wastes
I think there was a quest "One Shall stand, one shall Fall" somewhere, a TFTM ref.
Isn't Shaft somewhere in the game?
Also, last boss fight of Arcatraz, did it the first time the other night and it was frickin hillarious. That and the Warlock fight in Shattered Halls.

Small touches they make that you have to giggle at. When they mock themselves I get the biggest laugh.
The ogres you encounter in the game all talk like grimlock.
"Me Ogre, smash!"
And then you get to Duskwallow Marsh as Horde and you meet the Ogre Shaman who talks to you like a College professor and then tells you to stop gaping at him.
Personally having an engineer named Mac Diver that needs a paper clip, duck tape and a pocketnife made me almost cry from laughter.

Oh man. Nobody mentioned 'Seymour The Skinner?'

the "six demon bag" is hands down my favorite reference

My personal favourite is the appearance of "Adam Eternum" and his pet "Battletiger" among the Alliance battlemasters in Shattrath. "Keldor the Lost" is the Horde counterpart, and also pretty well done, although you need to know some backstory to know that Keldor was the original name of Skeletor.

@5 - I think the best companion to The Stoppable Force would be a grey-quality shield called, naturally... "The Movable Object."
I like the dwarven gun range outside of Ironforge, where a certain gentleman exclaims that, "THIS.... is my BOOMSTICK!"

On the belt called Tenacious Defender, the description says "It has the power... to move you"
That made me giggle for like 5 minutes. Tenacious D ftw!

Just a heads-up...
El Pollo Grande means The Big Cock, if you thought it was a reference to the Chicken that appears then the joke is on you! :)
