Unofficial Patch 2.3 notes
With the avalanche of information from Blizzard in the last week about Patch 2.3 it's been hard to keep track of it all. Fortunately, two sites have done just that. MMO-Champion and World of Raids have both compiled all the blue notes into a theoretical Test Realm Patch 2.3 Notes list. Most of the notes listed have links leading to the official source of the information. There will be a great deal more in the patch than what the blues have revealed so far, so take these as only partial lists. Also, a few items Blizzard hoped to get into the patch may not make it. This is the unfortunate truth in the development process.
World of Warcraft Lead Developer Jeff Kaplan, aka Tigole, mentioned that Patch 2.3 may hit the Test server this week. This seems very likely since the current patch on the PTRs, 2.2.2, must move off for Brewfest to go live on Tuesday.

maybe they should fix the crap in 2.2 before working on new stuff in 2.3
Bearskunk Oct 1st 2007 11:42AM
working on new content rules out that errors are being fixed?
I also doubt that you have insight into if the persons involved with 2.3 content have anything to do with fixing the current errors or not.

I'm just very curious about specifics about that new Repbot and engineering mount. If those two aren't totally-omg-awesome I'll dump the profession. Keeping it just for the goggles right now, everything else is junk.

I didn't notice this:
Mailboxes are upgraded to handle up to 12 items per mail.
That's cool.

I just noticed: Banish may no longer be cast on targets tapped by other players.
Boo. At least also include a change that lets our targets be tapped the moment we place a DoT and not 3 seconds later.
Heilig Oct 1st 2007 12:45PM
That already happened. DoT's and HoT's now have an instant effect as well as the ticks. Total damage is unchanged, however. They did that in 2.2.

It's all good, we (warlocks) won't save your asses anymore when you get too many adds...

@6... Since when have warlocks ever helped anybody?
All I see are locks fearing people into mobs, or training mobs onto their own faction when doing the escort quest!

Let me guess, you're a mage

So, by reading this, it looks like they're gonna do the leveling curve thing in 2.3...of course, my warrior just hit 45...w/e...has anyone seen other posts on this?

There's been some interesting 'rumours' in the paladin forums - turns out a blue posted even more Paladin changes but then quickly deleted the post (but not before it was seen and copied).
Changes like making AP fundamental within the retribution tree (and taking out spell damage) and thus also changing Seal of Command and Crusader Strike damage.

@8... no, i'm a Druid that casts MoTW and Thorns on every faction member I come across in pve.
Why do you ask?

He didn't *ask* anything if you read it.
Typical Mage (er...I mean Druid)

As a dwarf priest, I'm bummed out that I'm "losing" fear ward so soon. I thought that wasn't coming until the expansion. It's so handy... but the new 3-minute cooldown/3-minute duration is stupid.
gxavier Oct 2nd 2007 9:28AM
@15. Honestly I think a pvp interrupt/stun will be more valuable to the priests in the Arena.
swyourmom Oct 9th 2007 12:06PM
this 33% bonus spell damage from healing gear is absolutely stupid. So my shadow priest (who yes only has 640 spell damage atm)should roll healing gear? think about it...if i had 2k healing, i'd have 660 spell damage.
and now i'm really regretting rolling a blood elf priest...2 second silence w/in an 8 yard range vs. a dreanei/dwarves 2 second stun that does damage?
-stun can be considered the same thing as a silence, because they still cant cast anything or attack you if they're stunned.
-stun gives you a chance to get away and give yourself distance. silence does not
-its beneficial against all targets. silence is not (cant go around and silence a rogue or warrior)
-does damage. arcane torrent does not
