WoW collectibles previewed by IGN
When the word "collectibles" comes in to play, the first thing that comes to my mind is those Precious Memories figurines that my Grandmother collected. However, I think that you'll find these World of Warcraft collect ables (they're not action figures -- they're designed to look awesome, not move around) produced by DC Direct to be much more appealing. They're incredibly detailed figures for which IGN's preview has nothing but praise:What impressed us the most were some of the finer details like the ritual scarring on the orc's chest or the blood on his fangs. DC was very careful to incorporate a strong level of "grit", ensuring that the figure has a strong degree of realism and avoiding the "fake toy" look that can plague a collectible. Other details like the eyes, mouth interior and clothing texture really help seal the deal.
IGN has a great photo gallery if you want to check out these things for yourself and DC's page has a nice collection of pictures to flip through, as well. Series 1 of these figures should find their way to a store near you starting on October 24th, while Series 2 (including the figure to the right) won't be out until Feburary 2008.

@1: There's a priest in the second set.
I really like the look of all these figures. I own the first 3 figures made back when Warcraft 3 first came out (Stormrage, Thrall, and a huge Muradin) and though those look great, these new ones are even better. Even the GNOME looks awesome.

Wow, do they have enough Warriors?
Also, if the mage one is a gnome, I think I'll vomit.

Wow. I didn't think the warrior teir three armor could look more awesome, I was wrong.

No hunter either from what I could see. Would be cool to see Dwarf/Bear as per original WoW cinematic - wouldn't mind a troll hunter either (not that I roll horde).
C'mon hunters!! (and mages, i guess).

Where's my TAUREN?!?!

The rogue is only using one weapon, and the shaman has no chest armor. The lack of tauren annoys me, too.

They look nice, but to see Ashbringer wielded by anything but a paladin is heresy and a gnome doubly so.
I also echo the questioning regarding the absence of a hunter and the surplus of warriors in the collection.

I have the Orc Shaman sat on my desk right now and I have to say he looks awesome. Plenty of detail, very nice size also nice and solid. I've had some figures before where breathing at them wrong would cause them to explode, no chance of that happening with his guy.
