Maintenance extended for US realms
Problems with the 2.2.2 holiday mini-patch, perhaps? Or is this just a continuation of a slightly bumpy voice chat launch last night? We don't have any official word on the reasoning for this extended downtime, but the login screen is currently telling us that maintenance has been extended for two hours and not to expect realms back online until 1:00 PM PDT, or 4:00 PM EDT.Need to pass the time? Well, I always find going through the day's posts on Cute Overload! to be a worthwhile diversion, but if that's too much cute and not enough funny, there's I CAN HAZ CHEEZBURGER for all of your lolcat requirements.

I tried several times last night on different realms and with different people, and not once was I able to hear anyone, or they able to hear me, even though the mic test showed my headphones and mic working properly.

I've had no problems with Voice Chat so far, except for people being too quiet. I think it sounds better than Teamspeak, but not quite as good as Ventrillo. However, the auto-adjust for background noises is an AWESOME feature. I don't think our guild will be getting rid of our TS server any time soon, but the built-in Voice Chat turned out better than I was expecting. I just wish we could boost other peoples' mics a bit.

All the downtime for something many of us would rather not have time wasted on to be put in game.. they better give us a day on our Account balances to play with, or they just ripped me off.

this patch is nothing but bugs for me. I have had sound problems, huge lag and my cpu is running at almost 100%. WTF is that about! Pls blizzard fix soon. I cant play if im running at 4 fps.

Heh. two hour delay. I have not been able to play in a WEEK because WoW no longer supports wireless N after the 2.2 patch! Where's that story on that?

I'd like some acknowlegment on that too... ever since the patch last week my wireless network has been totally effed up. Haven't had a decent connection since (if at all able to connect)...
There's some info on the support forum, but no answers.
Belkin router... if it matters.

With regard to the Wireless-N problem, Blizzard's excuse is, "Well, if you would have waited until they'd established a standard for Wireless-N, we wouldn't be in this situation." Half of me agrees with them, half of me doesn't. Of course, at the moment, it's looking like there will never be a bona fide standard for N, which kind of makes the future more than a bit fuzzy for the early adopters.
Of course, yesterday, they rolled out voice chat to the remaining realms in a series of rolling restarts, which, as pointed out by larsiezwei, is causing massive amounts of lag. Blizzard's representatives in the official forums seem to be taking this less than seriously. I mean, when it comes to the slightest bit of Wrath of the Lich King news, their marketing department goes into overdrive and the press eats it up. New patch (technically, probably the voice chat, which preceded the patch) causes absurd amounts of lag? Not a news story, carry on, no comment.

Wait is worth it, now you can do loops on flying mounts!
