Patch 2.2.2 is live
Patch 2.2.2 goes live on the servers today as the Test server shuts down in anticipation of the Zul'Aman Patch 2.3. Included in today's patch is the new world event, Brewfest, which begins when the servers come back up and extends for two weeks until October 16. Two days after that, on the 18th, Hallow's End kicks into high gear with the new Headless Horseman event that drops some nice loot for those able to battle this new menace as well as the new flying broomstick mount. Hallow's End will also run for two weeks, ending on November 1st.
The notes for the patch are pretty short, just the two events and a list of new graveyards. You can read them after the jump.
General
- Brewfest has begun and members of the Horde and Alliance can enjoy a multitude of activities, quests, items, and even Ram Racing. As Brewfest is about beer and food, revelers can sample the best beverages available in the world.
- Observed by both the Horde and the Alliance, Hallow's End is the celebration of the break between the Forsaken and the Scourge. Adventurers can speak to innkeepers to get silly masks to wear during their adventures, and much more. This is just one way to celebrate Hallow's End. New Holiday World Event: The Headless Horseman has been seen terrorizing local villages.
- Added a new graveyard to the Southern Barrens.
- Added a new graveyard to the Western Plaguelands.
- Added a new graveyard to the Alterac Mountains.
- Added a new graveyard to the Searing Gorge.
- Added a new graveyard to the Badlands.
- Added two new graveyards to Tanaris.
- Added two new graveyards to Winterspring.
- Added two new graveyards to Stonetalon.
- Added two new graveyards to Un'Goro.

FINALLY! MORE GRAVEYARDS!
We have constantly asked for more quest and content pre BC and we get gy's.
Thanks for listening Blizz. Those gy's will sure help out on my grinding by 90%. No worries now.
Sigh
Agree with @1 Bring the servers back up and lets get on with the game already. What a waste of downtime.

@2 New quest content is planned for 2.3, Dustwallow Marsh is getting a new quest hub for levels 35~45. Also, exp is getting a huge boost for 20~60. The graveyard runs in those areas can be absolutely maddening, and less time running means dieing there isn't so horrid.
I'm kinda curious, does the grind for rams look bad?

Need to fix the link for "Hallow's End" as the link can't support an apostrophe.

Actually, I'm probably more pleased about the new graveyards than anything else (well, except maybe for the fact I don't have to reset my herb/mining search after I die anymore) as I am constantly tired of trying to get something done in a specific area only to run across a ridiculous area to wrap up the very end of it before I have to log off and that.
In addition, I won't be camped as severely as there will be more than one (usually obvious) location where people like me will ressurect only to be killed by a severely bored level 70 or the like. Sure, they'll eventually adapt on where to place themselves in the future, but it will take them a while to learn these locations on an instinctive level so maybe I can finally get back to levelling my alts in peace, if only for a little while.

I, for one, am very pleased with new graveyards. I'm currently leveling an alt, and more graveyards = less corpserunning time = happy Troll!

As someone putting an alt through Tanaris, thank goodness for more graveyards in that horrible zone!

shame that the horde can get ram mounts now. when are the alliance going to be able to get wolf mounts??
Nemir Oct 2nd 2007 12:56PM
My druid just hit 60 just in time for this. I know I want at least ONE of my characters to have the Ram mount, but I think hoof on hoof is just wrong.. (my druid is a tauren). However, my shaman already has a Talbuk and my mage is grinding for a turkey...so......hmmm.....
Anyway, maybe my druid will get a cool ram anyway as her epic mount instead of a kodo. I could always try to RP it or something...I just hope it wouldnt look too weird :P

Can't wait, Brewfest and the Hallow's End content is going to be something to behold, it's going to be awesome!
I'm thinking the extra GYs are in line with the faster leveling Blizz is going to implement. Die fighting that mob? Well here is a convenient GY close by, now get leveling!!!! ;)

Grave yards are a great addition. Would like to see a few more Flight paths put in as well. Northern STV comes to mind.

The broom mount is confirmed? I must have missed the info on this...is it permanent or have limited uses, or does is just turn your current mount into a "reindeer" like the christmas one?

Thank goodness for another holiday in WoW. That means all the people who would otherwise have their epic-ly ensconced and mounted 2007 Arena world champions with extra Tier 95 gear stuffed in their bags that would normally be harassing me and my toons in EP, STV, et-al, will instead be camping by the keggers because thats the closest they can legally get to real alcohol for at least another 6 years, pretending to get drunk, instead of ganking me. And if they do plan to run around ganking me anyways, at least I will be that much closer to a GY so I can get right back to by corpse, rez, and give them the pleasure of yet another honorless kill. I always like holidays in WoW because I can grind through a couple three levels far more easily (Smolderthorn, Alliance PvP)

Brewfest isn't running. There are Goblins in Ogrimar setting it up :(
Jack Oct 2nd 2007 3:19PM
@11 - I tried the broom mount on the PTR, and it is an actual mount. It only lasts for two weeks, but there are versions for each riding skill which drop from the Headless Horseman in SM Graveyard.
Momsmistake Oct 2nd 2007 6:35PM
I wont complain to much about the new GYs but at the same time they should still fix the flight paths for pre BC area. It shouldnt take me 6 stops to go to the next zone when a straight shot would get me there in 2mins instead of 10 or more. Boost the cost if need be we are all sick of the wait to fly from one zone to the next.

Brewfest is not up on my server, its being set up...so maybe next Tues?
