Brewfest tips, tricks and total tickets
As Blizzard hotfixes the broken Brewfest quests (Pink Elekks is hotfixed already), Community Manager Drysc has been posting with helpful information for holiday participants. Player Rizz wanted to know how many tickets she could acquire in one day. Drysc's estimate:15 tickets from "Bark for the Barleybrews!"
Twice a day (every twelve hours) you can do the "There and Back again" repeatable quest, 2 tickets each barrel, you might average 20 tickets? I'm not sure if there's an actual maximum but I do know you can't go forever.
Then every hour on the half hour you can get up to 25 tickets with the Dark Iron attacks.
So theoretically if you do everything you possibly could in a day and got the ticket amounts listed above: 355
This of course doesn't count any of the one-off quests.
Then Drysc responded in a separate thread with some helpful tips on finishing certain Brewfest quests:
- When doing the Barker quest, you can drop your ram after the fourth flag and use your epic mount to get back to the quest giver much faster. This allows you to push your ram harder since you won't have to ride him for as long.
- The keg delivery quest can be completed every 12 hours. It's not a daily quest.
Finally, an enterprising player drew a map of the fastest route to take in Ironforge. I hope Image Shack can handle the load.
Do any of you have any other tips or tricks to help out your fellow revelers?

Interesting to hear that keg delivery is a "twice daily" quest and not a daily. As for general Brewfest tips, I've compiled some Ram Riding 101 tips at: http://girlmeetswow.blogspot.com/2007/10/more-on-ram-racing.html

Thank God. I spent over an hour last night on my mage alt trying to get the Barker quests done. Will try using my (non-epic) mount after grabbing the fourth flag and see if that helps tonight.
Also, lag/computer freakouts makes me a sad panda- almost had it a few times last night, then I hit the crowd and my processor started to scream. Maybe I'll turn my graphics settings way down and see if that helps.

Please tell me there's a trick (other than ignoring them) so I don't have to put up with those morons spamming /wave and having mugs constantly thrown at them? No it wasn't funny first time, and the 598th time - still not funny! Seriously - is there a way to block them all?

whatever u do... dont fall or get off the mount when you do the keg delivery quest. when i did it first time the dwarves attacked. so, i bailed off and tried to figure out how to deal with that. once i found it must b bugged for me and couldnt do anything i tried to redo the keg delivery... wouldnt give me the option to redo it. so, i lost out on a mess of tickets.

crusader aura = easy mode?

Assuming the brewfest area isn't totally camped (as it is on my server currently), you can get more than 25 tickets from a single dark iron attack. Just turn in your stack of 25 and keep on throwing!

The 12 hour timer on the keg delivery is nice and I've found out that if you just spam the mug during the dwarf invasion they'll automaticaly target and hit the dwarves. I actually think I'll be able to get 700 tickets for the mount and the goggles.
Also, @2, don't dismount the rams until you've turned in the quest. I've tryed it and it doesn't work. :(

I'm getting quite annoyed now.
I love the brewfest concept, great idea. Shame the mount's aren't harder to get, i like more exclusivity, you know everyone's going to be riding around on them now so they'l be quite dull.
Also, Alliance SOOOO should've gotten a wolf or something.
The other thing that is frustrating, Is now they've hotfixed the Elekk quest, and I STILL cant seem to do it. The elekk's dissappear after i use the item on them, but i dont get any quest notification.
Blah.
All in all however, I'd like to thank blizz for this festival, Despite the bugs and my/everyones whining, it really is a fun idea. Hope to see more festivals/improvements to current ones to come.
Already looking forward to Hallowe's End.

Is there a better way to do the invasion thing then just spamming a button and hopeing for the best?
klink-o Oct 3rd 2007 6:48PM
@10:
If your server is even remotely populated, then no. On mine if your mug ain't in the air by the time the dwarf becomes targetable your prolly not gonna hit it. A few tips though:
1. stay close to the npc's who restock you, the shorter the distance they have to throw a mug to you the faster you can throw.
2. Try to aim toward the outer drills that come up, the center ones take the bulk of the fire and the dwarves there go down too quick.
3. Start to drink right as a drill stops moving up. If you time it right you'll throw at about the smae time as the dwarves are emerging.

I now feel Exceptionally retarded.
I couldn't complete the elekk quest because i was still in a raid group from Gruul's earlier.
Since i'm using GRID i didn't notice. Sometimes unobtrusive can be TOO much of a good thing.
Sorry everyone.

Got my brewfest ram at 6:35pm EST. Don't think it's a world first but I think it's a server first.

Apple Barrels only decurse the nearest person each tick.
SFFS Dont stop on the barrels, your just slowing yourself down and everyone else who is behind passing by at the same time.

Question: is the Pink Elekk quest a one-time quest, or a 12 hour quest?
MystikRavyn/Autumnn Oct 3rd 2007 9:58PM
Elekk quest is on a 12 hour. I have done it twice. I currently have 574 tickets and will have my ram within the next 2 dark iron attacks (or happen to have a 12 hr quest timer restart).
Bobby Hansen Oct 3rd 2007 10:02PM
Is the Eelek quest worth 40 each time?
spootym Oct 3rd 2007 11:22PM
The pink elekk is not repeatable. I asked a GM about this earlier and he confirmed this was the case.
What happened is when Brewfest initially started the quest was not obtainable by certain players. When it was hotfixed, it resulted in players that had completed it another opportunity to complete it a second time.
The GM said he will pass the information I gave him to the 'powers that be'. I suspect that at this point if the quest was available to you before the hotfix and you did not complete it; once you do, that will be your only time completing the Pink Elekk quest.

from http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=2215641690&sid=1
We've recently applied a number of hotfixes for the new Brewfest holiday event.
As we’ve seen a large number of issues stem from the Dark Iron attacks on Brewfest, both for our players and the game service, they have been temporarily disabled. At this time we’re still in the process of evaluating the situation and developing a better solution; however we hope to see the Dark Iron dwarves resume their attacks as soon as possible.
Until then we’ve increased the ticket rewards for the daily "Bark For..." quests from 15 to 40 tickets, and for the keg delivery quest which can be completed every 12 hours we've increase the value of each keg to 3 tickets. This still allows everyone to gain tickets at a rate comparable to what we intended the average player to be able to achieve before the Dark Iron attacks were disabled. For some players, especially on realms where tickets from the attacks were difficult to achieve, the amount of tickets received per-day could actually be increased.
As the Dark Iron attacks have stopped, we’re removing the ability to obtain a “Complimentary Brewfest Sampler” by /waving at Brewfest barkers and maidens (this hotfix will be applied soon). This will remain disabled and should the attacks begin again the samplers will be obtained through alternate means.
We’ve also hotfixed the Brewfest goggles to remove their duration. They are now permanent! The duration timer will continue to show until the next patch, but it will not affect the permanence of the goggles.
For further updates regarding any changes to Brewfest please continue to check this thread.

Horde on Stormscale-US can partially blame player Gothor for the disabling of the Dark Iron attacks.
He was reported for spamming /wave.
