A face in Searing Gorge

Bornakk jokes that the Titans left their face there before heading off to another world, but while that's probably not the case (Titans aren't that grubby), it is interesting that he should say the Titans leave their images sitting around-- we've already seen Titan statues appear in the videos for Northrend, and it's been confirmed there's a Titan instance up there. Leaving their images sitting around is definitely something they are wont to do.
But of course it's doubtful this has anything to do with the lore-- at most, it's just a developer hiding an Easter Egg, and at least, it's just a coincidence. Still neat, though.

"Leaving their images sitting around is definitely something they are wont to do."
you desperately need to start proofreading your posts
just about every one has a serious grammar or spelling error in it somewhere

@1 actually, it's not that bad.
I imagine you're confused about wont vs won't
Wont:
ADJECTIVE: 1. Accustomed or used: “The poor man is wont to complain that this is a cold world” (Henry David Thoreau). 2. Likely: chaotic as holidays are wont to be.

Actually, it looks like a reference to the classic silent film "A Trip to the Moon."

Cool find.

That's actually a grammatically correct sentence. Thought 'wont' means accustomed, so I think it was just used wrong.

Mike stop confusing the youngins!

@1
Why is it that the people who complain about grammar never seem to be correct themselves, Mr. I-Don't-Use-Any-Punctuation-Or-Capitalization?

I like the "gingerbread man with an extra 'appendage'" in Tanaris just west of Gadget a lot more :)
Krick Oct 4th 2007 5:45PM
I've seen that before and I always thought it looked like Jimi Hendrix.
I actually downloaded that wowmapper utility to try to get a good high res picture of it but I couldn't get it to work.

Yep. It's definitely Jimi Hendrix. No doubt about it. I found a good pic that matches exactly...

Looks like Barack Obama to me.
Sammycrack Oct 4th 2007 6:05PM
Does it look as much like a face when its perfectly centered in the mini-map? Its cool but I'm chalking this one up to Pareidolia.
Cailleach Oct 4th 2007 6:14PM
You can't perfectly center it. Go to Searing Gorge, Blackchar cave, and then go uphill and to the right as far as possible before hitting the invisible edge of the world. Check your minimap. Voila! Also, 'wont' is used perfectly in the original article.

@1: you're a moron.
Aietius Oct 4th 2007 7:47PM
"are wont" is used correctly.
l2vocabulary and l2grammar, seriously. I hate it when people become grammar nazis and then GET IT WRONG ANYWAY

I found that face a few weeks after TBC came out while farming Mithril Ore. So I can tell you it's been there at least since February.
Mike Schramm Oct 4th 2007 10:21PM
Yeah, you like my usage of the word "wont"? I hoped a few folks would appreciate it. When I broke out "behooves" nobody said anything.
klink-o Oct 5th 2007 2:45AM
My shop teacher used "behooves" at least twice a day, just because he could...
ThorinII Oct 5th 2007 7:19AM
The worst is when people say, "irregardless." That isn't even a word!! It's "regardless." There's no "ir" people! (no one said that here, I'm just saying...)
Anyway, to the point... I'd have to say Hendrix.

Saw this ages ago, Never really thought much of it.
Although, It looks like Tom Baker to me...
