Brewfest update: Barker quests fixed... mostly

The Barker quests for the Brewfest are fixed for almost everyone at this point. Unfortunately, some people are still unable to get credit when riding near flags and Blizzard is looking into it. Blizzard CM Drysc and Event Developer Kisirani have been giving updates for fixing the Bugfest.
If you are still having trouble with a Barker quest, here is some info for making sure it's not you:
If you are still having trouble with a Barker quest, here is some info for making sure it's not you:
- You can only do one Barker quest a day. Double check your Daily Quest total in your Quest Log to make sure you haven't already completed it.
- There are two competitors vying for your barking prowess, but once you work for one brewer, the other won't offer you the quest until the next day.
- If you failed it, you can abandon the quest and try again.
- You have to be on your Rental Ram when going past the flags or else you will not get credit. Once you get all four flags, however, you can use your mount to race back to the brewer.
Kisirani says they are still discussing what to do about the Dark Iron Dwarf attacks and will work on them more tomorrow. If they do come back in some form, you will not be getting the souvenir mugs by waving at the Barmaids.
They have fixed the apple barrels so that multiple people can get their fatigue removed at the same time when near them.
The Pink Elekk quest is a BC quest only. If you don't have the expansion, you cannot get the quest because you cannot travel to the Exodar or Silvermoon. Also, it is a one time only quest.
The Keg Delivery quests can be completed every 12 hours and currently award 3 tickets per keg, but that may be increased upon further review.
I have personally completed all of the currently available quests on both Alliance and Horde characters and didn't hear anyone else complaining about quests not working while I was doing them, which is a big change from yesterday when attempting to do the same thing.
I think the Alliance is definitely the winning faction as far as the Beer Goggle effect. Seeing the world as male gnomes, some of them pink-haired and in naughty lingerie, is worth getting at least 100 tickets to purchase the Goggles.
Were you able to get your target number of tickets today? Or are you done trying to fight the Brewfest bugs?

More tickets. Need many more tickets. I need 1000 total and I'm not even at 200 yet. I don't think that even counts the boots.

Luckily, both my alliance and my horde servers were bug-free today. I purchased the goggles on my lowbie alliance rogue, and am saving up for the ram on my 64 and 70. I'm just 6 tickets away from being able to purchase the barrel of brew thing for 50, so I'll get that on my lowbie tomorrow

I got 24 tickets off the keg deliveries just now (I got fatigued once when an apple barrel didn't proc, you practically have to stop on top of the things to ensure it does). That's a single dwarf attck's worth of tickets, except I have to wait 12 hours to do it again.

I got 464 tickets i hope i get 600 before that ends i really want that ram and i have done lost of work to get that and now that Dark Iron Dwarf attack is gone
:( i hope that comes back all want to get tickets :)and when this party ends..?

I luckily played a bit more on the first day this disastrous event started and got a few more tickets then. They still better be reinstating the Irondwarf event asap in order to get sufficient amounts of tickets. Raising the amount on Barker and Racing quests is nice. Having the Racing quest on a 12h timer which means most people will effectively only be able to do the quest daily is idiotic. In total the changes do not make up for the cancelled Irondwarf event. Currently in need for 735 more tickets.

the 12hr reset on the rams doesn't make sense. Attacks were every hour, 25 tix limit (though it was possible to get more...) other quest adjustments added at most 49tix/day ... the math doesn't add up there now does it?
So 5 days to get a mount... hrm... I think they should tweak it up a tad so that it's 3 days, but that's just me.

They better reinstate the dark iron attacks soon, or drastically increase the amount of tickets you get from the other quests.

So far I've earned ~150 tickets, which since I'm only shooting for the dress and maybe the goggles means I'm well on my way. I like the barker quest giving 40 tickets because it means I can log in, do the two day quests and log back out in roughly 10 minutes. I get to enjoy the event without needing to being online every hour on the hour to fight dark iron dwarves.
I haven't encountered any bugs on my server yet, but I didn't start trying until after they fixed the Elekk quest.

I accidentally dismounted from the ram during the race and was never able to get another, making me unable to complete the quest. Is this intended?

Blizzard still needs to do something to recompensate for the fact that players haven't been able to earn near as many tickets as they should.
Personally, however, I won't mind at all if the Dark Iron Dwarf feature never comes back. Each time I did it, the combination of drunk screen effects, tons of drill things popping up, and the high amount of people in attendance resulted in me having to try to hit things at 3 frames per second...which was neither fun nor profitable.
Personally I think they should make all the one time only quests daily quests, but change the reward for multiple completion to tickets. That seems like it would be easiest way for them to fix this.
Dwarfman Oct 5th 2007 9:07AM
I thought the Barker quest was broken when I first tried it, but then after awhile I thought maybe I have to be drunk to get it to work and it did!
So get drunk and bark, it might work for you guys too. It worked for me and my friends on Elune.
Vestras Oct 5th 2007 9:05AM
Other than gettin my Jackelope, I'm not really gonna try that hard any more. I do plan to snag the goggle on at least one character, but the ram is just not worth the trouble at this point
Krystalle Voecks Oct 5th 2007 10:12AM
@10 - Just as a heads up -- if you turn "Full Screen Glow Effect" off in your options, it removes the blurry drunk effect. You can slam down brews with the best of 'em then!

So? You get 40 from the barker and 15ish from each keg run. So approximately 70ish tickets a day? Am I missing something or is there a way to increase ticket count?
Cody Oct 5th 2007 11:09AM
@14
You should be getting 24 per ram run, and 40 per barker quest for a total of 88/day.
Chris Anthony Oct 5th 2007 11:24AM
@14: I've been getting 30 tickets per keg run. With the 40/day from the barker quests, that's 100 tickets per day, so even without the one-off quests and Dark Iron attacks I'll almost be able to buy the ram hand-stamp twice over before the event's done.
I'm really amused by all of the comments saying things like "they need to compensate us for the Dark Iron tickets". How quickly we go from not knowing about something to feeling entitled to it!
Chris Anthony Oct 5th 2007 11:33AM
Actually, now that I've done the math, it should theoretically be possible to get up to 42 tickets per keg run, if you're doing every run perfectly. (That's a total of 84 tickets a day from the ram runs, or 124/day total from the repeatable quests.) A full cycle (from Pol Amberstill to Flynn Firebrew and back) takes 45 seconds - maybe a little less - and every keg you give to Pol Amberstill adds 30 seconds to your ram's timer, so in theory it should be possible to make 14 cycles before the timer runs out.
I'm not sure /I/ could run it that well, though...
Maybe Oct 5th 2007 11:56AM
Thanks for the maths on that guys. I'm not going to perfect my keg running skills, just trying to makes sure i can achieve my goals. Thanks again!

Agree wholeheartedly with 16.
The dark iron dwarf event was fun, but sucked for getting tickets if you were on a high pop realm.
Barrack Oct 5th 2007 1:30PM
My max so far on the Ram Quest is 42 tickets. I average 36-39 depending on an unlucky barrel not removing fatigue. I have heard people claim they can get more, but I am not seeing how. If anyone knows how I would love to hear. At this rate I average 100+ tickets a day and do it on 4 characters, so I should be able to get everything I need. I can't complain....
