Got your ram yet?
Did you get your Brewfest ram yet? I have to say, ashamedly, that I haven't-- I moved to a new apartment last week and was without internet long enough that I wasn't able to start Brewfest right away, and now I fear I'm too far behind to even get started. You need 600 Brewfest tickets to get the ram, and with all the quests (despite the bugs), you are supposed to be able to pick up around 100 tickets a day (30, if you're good, from the two keg runs you can do every 12 hours, and 40 from the Bark for the brewery quests). Add the tickets from the one-time quests for that, and you're looking at just under a week of grinding to get the Racing Ram for yourself.Unfortunately, Brewfest is shutting down on Tuesday, which means even if I worked like mad until then, odds are I wouldn't be able to get 600 tickets in time (not to mention I need some training-- I just did another keg delivery run, and only picked up a little over 20 tickets). So if, like me, you're starting late, you're probably out of luck this year.
However, Aeus has good news-- Brewfest (and the ram racing) will be back again next year, and you can save all your tickets until then. Of course, next year, considering the popularity, they'll probably have even cooler prizes to spend tickets on, but still-- if you're left in the lurch with Brewfest tickets, stick 'em in your bank and wait until next Brewfest. Hallow's End is next!

I got mine.. I must admit i am not impressed. It is not as colorful as the regular epic rams and the only special thing about it is the beerfest logo on the saddle blanket. I suppose if this was just meant for horde to be able to get a traditional alliance mount then it was a success.

Being Alliance I skipped the Ram, as I already have the Stormpike Charger. But, I did get every single other item from Brewfest you can get. Its fun to greet guild mates as they enter Magtheridon's Lair in the full Brewfest Laderhosen garb, with my crazy pet and a pony keg of brew. :)

I have 500 tickets. One more day I should be able to get the Ram. Honestly though, I really don't need this mount. I have the Spectral Tiger, and there's no reason to replace that. I already have the Beer Goggles and the Portable Keg. I suppose I'm just getting the Ram for the sake of options. I am assuming that, even after getting the ticket, after Brewfest is gone I can still purchase the Ram later (having already completed the 600 ticket quest needed).
We'll see.

Whats up with the keg? Is bottomless or have 10 charges etc...?

"30, if you're good, from the two keg runs you can do every 12 hours"
If you're good? It's not hard at all, you just need the right path and you can stay in gallop the whole time. The only "skill" involved is staying at the apple barrels long enough that you don't miss the fatigue removal if you've got some lag.

I should have my ram by Sunday.
Todd Oct 11th 2007 3:31PM
The keg sticks around for a few minutes, and is bottomless.

I've got epic riding rams and other brewfest prizes on all three of my characters. It was a very easy to do.
Actually, had the dwarves not been disabled thus increasing the reward ticket quantity for the dailies, I probably wouldn't have been able to do it.
Accumulating 30 tickets via the keg run should be the standard. If you are getting less then 30, you must be doing something wrong. Has anyone got more than 36 tickets in one run? That seems to be my ceiling.
MacKoroni Oct 11th 2007 3:36PM
@7 That's it?! A one charge bottomless keg? I would have paid mucho tickets for apony I could resummon.
Apadwe Oct 11th 2007 3:37PM
I will be able to acquire enough tickets by Tuesday for the Ram mount if I just do the daily barking quest so with the keg delivery I should be able to pick up enough tickets to get some of the other stuff.
Addie Oct 11th 2007 3:40PM
The pony keg is 3 minutes of drinking with a 30 minute cooldown. The Brewfest Brew is strong too... it's very nifty.
Oblivion Oct 11th 2007 3:42PM
@9 The keg has in infinite charge. It's on a 30 minute cool down.

I got a ram for my main yesterday. Too bad I don't have time to get one for my alts. Perhaps I could get them regalia and goggles instead.
Baluki Oct 11th 2007 3:50PM
I just got mine, and just finished a post on my blog about it.

@8, yes you can get more then 36 tickets (that is 12 barrel turn in). I have been lucky and turned in 15 barrels once so far (that is 45 tickets). This is from one run, not a daily total, that would total would be 90 for a daily.
The trick is knowing when the barrel is actually thrown to you and when you are turning it in. I use the method of turning the camera around so I am looking behind me, when I hit the spot that I know the barrel is being thrown at me (the two guards that are out front of the armory, when I see the second one) I hit my right mouse button which turns me around. Same goes for when turning in the barrel (which happens to be after the second banner flag).
The real trick is fatigue, you only hit the one apple barrel which means you have to watch that fatigue closely after you hit it on the way to kharonos. When I hit 40 fatigue, I stop and just coast the rest of the way till I hit the apple barrel again. The other trick, go in a straight line. One line from barrel thrower to apple barrel, another line from barrel to barrel turn in.
When the lag is not to bad, I do really good, but when there are to many players around, I kind of wait for the numbers to tapper off.

Just got mine this minute - one for my Forsaken Priest, one for my Tauren Druid, who looks absolutely ridiculous on it! Well worth the time!

I am 8 tickets away from getting my ram. I'll be getting it tonight.
I'm also going to try for some memorabilia as well, a hat, boots, doubt I'll be able to get the outfit before closing.
Paul Oct 11th 2007 5:06PM
@ 8, yeah, i average 13 kegs delivered, and have gotten 15 once or twice, it's really all about what poster 15 said- i posted a more detailed description similar to his at one of the other stories here:
http://www.wowinsider.com/2007/10/10/dark-iron-attacks-finished-for-the-year/#c8077903
I'd like to add, it pays to be conservative, stay that extra half second at the apple barrel, only push your exhaustion to 90 instead of 95, etc. b/c one exhaustion debuff can ruin all your well laid plans worse than the extra 5 seconds being careful will add to your entire run.

So when do the alliance get a chance to get a Horde type mount?
Enaress Oct 11th 2007 6:23PM
I got my epic ram, beer goggles, and keg. I'm not interested in getting the clothing.
