Patch 2.3 on the PTR: Engineering flying machine reagents
EDIT: YouTube video! ~ Thanks RogueJedi86Look at the screenshot. It's like Christmas came early courtesy of Patch 2.3. Seriously, that is one of the coolest flying mounts in the game. And if that's not good enough for you, click here to see an animated gif of it in action. This mechanical wonder can all be yours if you have the skill.
MMO-Champion was able to get a scrounge up the recipe for the two Engineering Flying Machine schematics:
Engineering: Flying Machine
Reagents:
- Adamantite Frame (2)
- Fel Iron Bar (30)
- Handful of Fel Iron Bolts (8)
- Star Wood (8)
- Fel Iron Toolbox
- Elemental Seaforium Charge (4)
I'm not a Grandmaster Engineer myself, but these components don't look too difficult to gather. The only sticking point I see is the Elemental Seaforium Charge comes from a recipe that requires Revered faction with the Consortium to purchase. But the Charges aren't BoP so you can always buy them from another Engineer.
The Epic Flying machine after the jump!
Engineering: Turbo-Charged Flying Machine
Reagents:
- Flying Machine Control
- Khorium Power Core (8)
- Felsteel Stabilizer (8)
- Hula Girl Doll
The Flying Machine Control is what you get when you make the 350 Flying Machine. It's the "reins" you use to summon the mount. The Khorium Power Core and the Felsteel Stabilizer can be either crafted (350+) or purchased in Netherstorm. The Hula Girl Doll can be purchased from our favorite scam artists Griftah in the Lower City of Shattrath. A complete breakdown of all the raw materials needed can be found in this WoW Head comment thread.
The reagents involved are surprisingly simple to get considering it's used to make an Epic Mount. I suppose Engineers will pay through the nose just to level from 350 to 375 anyway. Keep an eye on the next installment of our Professions weekly column, Insider Trader. Lisa Poisso will be covering tips to max out your Engineering.

The mats are easy. My engineer dinged 60 three days ago. I've spent the past two days questing in HP, and have almost half of the mats already (and dinged 62). I wasn't even trying to farm. Simply grab every node you spot on the way.
Plans for the Elemental Seaforium Charge are the only challenge. Luckily, I have a friend who is level 70, and also an engineer, *and* has been working on Consortium rep anyway.

the only hard-ish aspect of the entire material collection part is the 48 khorium ore. that might take people a while if they didn't have a bunch of bars banked.
the adamantite and fel iron should yield all the motes/primals you need, so that's a gimmie.
compared to the relative cost of the new repair bots, this recipe is downright cheap.

I cannot believe how easy the mats are. Can you imagine how crazy this would have been pre-tbc? All the Core-this and Frozen-that's that it would have required?

@23: The clever ones will know what to do in this situation, and tbh there aren't that many engineers either.
Also bear in mind that Blizz might change the mats, so if you start to stockpile now, it might also be a wasted cause.

The flying mount looks great! Can't wait, and I've got max engi skill, max flying skill and all the required mats for both machines already in the bank :D
Roll on 2.3 !! :)

Bop huh? I call that gaytarded.
I started the game as an Engineer and was happy with it for the most part. However, I'm a cloth wearer. My Eng, was almost maxed but I was foreced to switch to tailoring to compete with all the other locks and mages for DPS.
