The Brewfest wrap-up question
The festive tents are coming down. The Pink Elekks are fading away. The Wolpertingers are are scurrying back to their hutch in Wolpertingerland. What? You've never heard of Wolpertinger- land? Trust me, you are noy prepared.Of course, neither was Blizzard. Nothing could prepare them for the combination of enthusiasm and technical glitches that made the inaugural Brewfest event something of a bugfest. But for the love of schnitzel and parading through Ogrimmar as a Tauren on a Riding Ram (so, so wrong) players dove in to the Daily Quests, both steins at the ready.
But with Brewfest winding down today we figured it was time to count your tickets and see if that Pony Keg will be making an appearance at the next Gruul wipe. I bring you, the question of the day:
| Yes! I drank, I ticketed, I goggled! | |
|---|---|
| Most of it. I think. My memory is kinda bleary. | |
| Got some souvenirs. Mostly lag and frustration. | |
| Didn't get a thing I planned on. Guess I'm waiting until next year. |
Let us know what you accomplished and what got left behind like a bad hangover. I, for one, know that I shall never remove from my memory the site of a Blood Elf in Brewfest Regalia. How about you?

Didn't participate in brewfest. Is that an option?

I got my Brewfest ram, Pony Keg, hat, and dress. I would have got the goggles too if I had paid attention and realized the dress was the only item that was not BoP. I could have bought it with an alt and mailed it to myself.
Oh well, there is always next year.

I have to agree @ 1. I didn't even log on during this entire deal. I may log on a bit now to play with the headless horseman, but other than that I'm tired.

At the moment, I've got absolutely everything bar one of the hats, and I have 30 tickets in my inventory. A GM told me that Brewfest would last another 24 hours when I opened a ticket, which on my server means I'll get another keg run, despite the day being the 17th - I'll have to see how accurate the GM was. If I can't get the hat though, I'll be severely disappointed as I did every possible quest and event, including the keg run twice a day for the entire two weeks.
While it was fun, and a good idea, I along with others was hugely frustrated by the keg run - or more specifically, the glitchiness of it. One lap you could run right by an apple barrel and be refreshed. The next lap you could physically touch it, and get nothing. You could run over either goblin npc (oh yeah, I'm Horde) and sometimes get nothing. But other times, you'd run only slightly near them and trigger the keg receive/throw. It was errors like that that meant I only got a perfect 13 keg run once, and most of the other times I was lucky to even get 11 or 12.
I'll be looking forward to it next year, but I hope they sort it out. In any case, unless they release an absolute bucketload of new prizes, I won't need to work nearly as hard next time around. ^__^
And of course, I'm dying to fight the Headless Horseman on Thursday. ^__^

managed to get enough tickets for two of my toons to get the brewfest mount and 1 toon got the goggles.
Took me the entire week of calculating how many tickets I had to earn in a day and contemplating waking up an extra hour early so I could do a keg run before work.
The dark iron raids need to be worked out for next year and maybe they'll offer a brewfest tabbard and flying mount (for 10,000 tickets I'm sure)

The goggles are the single coolest item I've seen so far in WOW.
Even watching gnomified horde wins the BG is less painful then usual.
(now just need goggles that teach alliance to heal at bg's)
that's how much i liked it:

YUp, I got the mount for my second main, and the entire outfit and keg for my banker, and goggles and hats for a couple alts....I think the Brewfest was a success, and refreshed my playing habits (at least for awhile)....Though I am a bit dissapointed that Alliance didn't get a Horde mount, maybe another festival will give us access to something Horde to ride.

The only thing I wanted was the Ram, and I got it last week. Kinda fun to ride around on. Not sure yet if it's the mount for me, I liked the Talbuk that it replaced quite a bit.
Really looking forward to Hallow's End starting. Horseman looks fun.

I got the ram on my main, even though I'm Alliance and have the Stormpike Charger already.
My main also got the hat, regalia and shoes. Both tankards (hooray for getting the Dark Iron Tankard in time!)
I got the boots and goggles for my bank alt to complement my tuxedo.
It was a lot of fun; it would have been a lot more fun it the Dark Iron Attacks made a comeback - but to be honest, I think the increased ticket rewards made it a LOT easier for people to get enough tickets to get a lot of stuff.

This event was such a failure that i kept my 400 tickets. I did not purchase anything with em.
You know, id rather not have someone ask me "where have you got that funky hat ? That would just bring memories of failure.
rgoff31 Oct 16th 2007 9:47AM
I got the male outfit & hat, the goggles, the Keg and the pet. I really didn't care about getting the ram.
I know they do these events, but they feel so static and uninvolving. You don't get a sense of community, people just grind new quests. Why not have GMs spawn in and RP or spawn in monsters etc...

i love brewfest... i have my own wolpertinger and yesterday i bought my swift ram. good event.
Matt Oct 16th 2007 9:50AM
Some of you people are so freaking negative. Stop bitching.
Razhlok Oct 16th 2007 9:51AM
I got everything except the Riding Ram. I've had a Stormpike Battle Charger for like a year now, so it wasn't really worth the 600 tickets + 90g. Brewfest was fun, I hope they can work out the bugs for the Dark Iron event for next year. That looked cool.

where's the option for "got majorly pissed off at all the extra spamming from NPC's and players on rams in Org which was added to the gold seller spam that i nearly threw my laptop out of the window" ?
if there was, that'd get my vote. i just ignored everything about it.

Having lived near Munich for several years, unfortunately, I got to HATE the Octoberfest.
Don't go. It's a stifling hot tent filled with drunken louts trying to pick a fight. The supposed 1-liter stein is filled with 1/2 foam, 1/2 beer. Drunken guests urinate under the tables routinely in order not to have to get up. Last year someone vomited onto my elbow while I was trying to eat and then asked me if I wanted a bloody nose. On the train ride back, several scared girls with dyed hair hid in a corner while drunken farmboys talked about "gassing antisocial elements" - scary.
The main effect for people unfortunate to be in the area is an invasion of loud, obnoxious country bumpkins.
On the plus side, one gets to watch obnoxious drunken country bumpkins break their own jaws ... on the negative side, more than 100 rapes are committed next to the Oktoberfest each year.
It's a celebration of stupidity and superficiality - and I hate Blizz for those two weeks where everyone was re-enacting this World's Stupidest Party.

I gotta say that I was not impressed with the event at all. Seemed like a placeholder for something else, really. Not nearly enough to keep it interesting for more than a day. And with trying to get alts levelled, I really didn't have time to go to IF every day and run all the same flippin dailies over and over.
I kind of wish Blizzard would come up with something genuinely entertaining. The old, established holiday events are well done. This one seemed thrown together.
Slayblaze Oct 16th 2007 10:24AM
Didn't even try it. Seemed stupid.

Should have added a choice for:
( ) There was nothing I wanted, and I got it.
