Two Bosses Enter: Princess Huhuran vs. Magtheridon

This week we're setting Ahn'Qiraj's Princess Huhuran against the Pit Lord Magtheridon. Want to tell us who would win and who would lose? Keep reading for the details!
From a player's perspective, Princess Huhuran is an annoying resistance-based fight. But just having a high enough nature resistance won't win this one for you -- beyond her nature damage, she can also deal immense amounts of melee damage, especially when in Frenzy or Berserk. Her abilities are as follows:
- Frenzy: greatly increases melee damage.
- Poison Bolt: high nature damage to the closest 15 targets, only happens when in Frenzy or Berserk.
- Noxious Poison: high nature damage DoT which silences the target. Cast on a target at random.
- Wyvern Sting: AoE sleep that deals nature damage if cleansed.
- Acid Spit: low damage nature DoT on Huhuran's primary target -- but it stacks.
- Berserk: at 30% health, Huhuran will Berserk, greatly increasing her attack speed and causing her to send out Poison Bolts.
For Magtheridon's part, we're considering Magtheridon alone and in a neutral battleground -- without the additional mobs you'd see in his lair or the terrain issues you would have there. He deals heavy melee damage and fire damage, but if we take adds out of the question, it''s a pretty straightforward encounter:
- Quake: a one-a-second knockback that lasts 7 seconds.
- Blast Nova: a high fire damage DoT.
- Cleave: a frontal AoE melee attack.

Dots would stack to much.
Huhuran wins

Assuming Mag isn't immune to any of Huhu's abilities, she would mop the floor with him. Between silence and sleep his blast wave would be a non-issue.

Magtheridon would destroy Huhuran. The vast amount damage he can deal would squat the bug pretty quick.
Keep in mind the biggest challenge to defeating Huhuran was the massive spread-out damage everyone in the raid took. Her damage vs 1 person isn't all that much.

Most of Mag's damage is magic based. Constant silence + large amounts of DoTs + Sleep from time to time = Dead Pit Lord.

Magtheridon doesn't stand a chance.

If they were of equal level then yeah, i agree Huhuran would win.
Darkbeing Oct 18th 2007 4:40AM
@7 well take in mind if there is no one else to hit she will hit more the same target.
I belive hunduran would win a melee figth, she just can't click all the 5 Cubes

@5 i mean ^^

Huhuran will win. Their major "take this" abilities are the major factors in this match. The problem is, Magtheridons Blast Nova only lasts for 10 seconds, while Huhuran's lasts until it's tranquilised.

The Twin Emps beat the Four Horsemen? No way
Xiryc Oct 18th 2007 9:38AM
No way Huhuran wins. Mag is immune to silence, remember?

I like to look at these fights from a player's perspective - if I was ever in them, that is. Having killed both (though Huhu has been a while), I'd say Huhuran is just... too much for Mags. You won't understand if you haven't actually done this fight; think of it as Vael on speed and with nature damage instead of fire.
Regardless, the havoc Mags wreaks when he breaks loose seems rather dull and soft compared with the WTFPWN OH SHI- feeling you get when Huhuran hits 30%. Therefore, she wins.

I have to agree with 1, if you watch your use of the English language it really helps to make your point. Spelling and grammar ftw.

Magtheridon is the Lord of Outland, his power can not be denied? All who dispute his rule, will regret their folly.
amirite?

I also think Magtheridon would win, but just barely. His cleave and melee attacks are extremely strong.
Huhuran shouldn't be affected by Mag's quake, and Mag shouldn't be affected by any silencing abilities.
Still Huhuran's poison would do a lot of damage to Mag and I was tempted to vote this a draw.

You are forgetting the ceiling collapse during the Mag fight. I forget what point this happens (I am thinking around 30 or 20%) but it is a high damage ceiling collapse that can easily kill tanks.

@19:
"For Magtheridon's part, we're considering Magtheridon alone and in a neutral battleground -- without the additional mobs you'd see in his lair or the terrain issues you would have there."
No lair, no ceiling, no terrain effects, no collapse. Mags might be able to get an early lead, but the DoT's will eventually turn the tide. Oh, and once Huhu hits 30%... GG.

Since the only change is that both are lvl 73 all other stats are the same:
Princess Huhuran:
Health: 990,000
Magtheridon:
Health: 4,800,000
Huhuran cannot hit 5 times harder than Magtheridon. Even if Huhuran is lvl 73. That is because a player Tank is able to tank both bosses.
If you rise the health of Huhuran because lvl 73 you have to consider that Mag is a 25 man raid Boss and Huhuran was a 40 man raid Boss. I don't want to do the math therefore.
Do we have some numbers from a Tank with full armor mitigation that can tell us how many DPS he received from both bosses?
