Patch 2.4 is nearly ready for testing
"Sunwell is coming along nicely," says Tigole (a.k.a. Jeffery Kaplan). "It will be on the PTR shortly after 2.3 goes to the live realms. We still need to perfect 2.3 a bit on the PTR." There it is. Most of us suspected that patch 2.4 would be the big Sunwell patch, but now it's official. There's going to be lots of new instancing coming up once all the big changes in patch 2.3 go live. Tigole even adds that "The 5 person dungeon is complete and the 25 person raid instance is progressing nicely. There's also a cool "public" area featuring brand new daily quests called Sunwell Isle."
The 5-person dungeon plus even more daily quests are a bit more to look forward to for those casual gamers who thought all their goodies were finished in 2.3, and that 2.4 would be almost entirely about the new 25-person raid dungeon. For the more hardcore-inclined among us, this will be the startling conclusion to The Burning Crusade expansion, the last big raid before Wrath of the Lich King! How does it feel? Exciting? Nostalgic? More of the same?

Well, while we're still at it; let's have a look at patch 20.9! Just to get a fresh new idea of what's coming in the next 9 years! Man, patch 2.3 is not even out and you guys are allready worrying about 2.4?
Taintedmage Oct 22nd 2007 3:01PM
NOOOOOOO!!!!! If they start working on patch 2.4 and end up finishing 2.3 that means (judging by the last time they had a finishing patch) some 6 months from the release there will be Wrath and I would rather wait a little longer.

"even more daily quests" Definitely NOT looking forward to these.
Andrew Oct 21st 2007 5:33PM
What we need are Level 40 and 60 daily quests. With faster leveling, people will be getting their mounts long after the fact.
RogueJedi86 Oct 21st 2007 6:22PM
What we need is a higher cap on the number of daily quests that can be completed a day. 10 Dailies was fine when there were only 5-10 daily quests in the game, but we're rapidly gaining upwards of 20 or 30 daily quests a day, with no chance to do 1/2 or 2/3 of them.
Melenor Oct 21st 2007 6:45PM
@4: maybe the new daily quests won't be as disgustingly boring as almost all of the current ones. We're all well aware of the drudgery that comes with wanting to earn 120g a day, and I doubt Blizzard hasn't learned something from that implementation.
... wait, yes I do, it's Blizzard. Sigh....

>... wait, yes I do, it's Blizzard. Sigh....
I don't understand
Blizzard is not a new editor in game, it has a long story or great game and success
they still support old games with patches and maintains battle.net
and they changed enough Wow when it was needed to prove they listen and can react.
what do you want more ??
500g by day ? 1000 ? 100 000 ? 1 Billion of GOLD ? to be happy and convinced Blizzard listen TO YOU ?
they listen to ME and I told them : "do not listen to Melenor".
--
"it's . Sigh..."
is a common sentences to tell "I don't care about the past and the success, I want More , more and MORE , now!".
it's boring.
Merus Oct 21st 2007 8:53PM
I like them adding more daily quests: it means that, eventually, I'm going to have to drop the less interesting ones without missing out on gold.
Justus Oct 21st 2007 9:01PM
Woot for new instances nobody on the server will ever see. Blizzard will most likely put another attunement (artificial roadblock) that will hold back 95% of the population from ever seeing it.
I'm not going to fall for the "Naxx trap" this time. I'm writing this one off.

New 5 man sounds good and i think that story wise adding a whole end to the Burning Legion story is kind of important.
While the lore has slowed down in world of warcraft, it is still important that blizzard keeps some sort of semblance of it in the game.

I gave up on getting the best raid gear and seeing end game content a LOOOOONG time ago. Now, my goal is to get the best farming gear possible and turn my paladin into a farmbot so I can be rolling around in disgusting amounts of gold. gold == win
Arioch Oct 21st 2007 11:06PM
Just more raid content that my guild will never get to.
Andelorn Oct 21st 2007 11:26PM
Blizzard stated they won't be doing crazy attunements anymore already.
Liel Oct 21st 2007 11:37PM
Daily quests are boring but people bitched about making gold doing farming so Blizzard added a way to get some rep and quest and get gold, people still bitch.
So I guess they should go back to the plateau and farm motes.

Last patch till WOTLK. I want Blizzard to stop with the expansions and raised lev caps. I want them to expand on what we already have. I am tired of seeing instances scrapped when a new one opens. I am not against progression but not letting these wonderful places be forgotten should be a goal as well. I have a few game freinds that never even got to experiance MC or BWL. Thats just wrong. Why do you want all this content and hard work put into the game skipped? Again I am tired of hearing new content. My reason for this post is to say what about what we already have!

Blizz is at it again... tipping the balance to the hard core players and shafting the casuals. Zul Aman is barely out... I don't know any one with any of its gear much less decked to the teeth and here comes yet more content. So lemme get this straight... grind dungeons over and over for the next 6 months to get the epix that will be replace by greens in WotLK?
More dailies? How bout making G easier to earn than spending our precious play time grinding the same 10-15 quests every day to try to get ahead. Most on my server haven't achieved an Epic Flyer... and Blizz wants us to spend 1-2 hours every day making scraps on dailies... then another few hours farming; so we can spend even more hours instancing? Blizz should to develope a new money system. New content is great... but what good is it when people can't afford to see it?
QQ? sure... I've vested 3 years in this game and I dont think i'll be doing WotLK.

Lots of whinecry in this comment thread...
No matter how shitty your guild is, or how full of fail you are as an individual, I can't fathom why anyone would complain about more game content. If you want to play a game that never changes, try checkers.
Blizzard owns you and your monthly fee.

Ok i just gotta say something>
when reading WoW forums i see 90% of the post as moaning people, 5% of nonsence.
I'm loving the game and i know loads of people do aswell. too bad i dont see those ones on the forums.
To get to the point of where this forum is all about..
I'm rly looking forward to this patch, i the idea of 5-man instance are good, since not everyone has got enough time to join raids (luckely i do).
Hope to see this patch soon! Enjoy it.
