zomg u has stick?

So the orc warlock can handle the big sticks, the small pointy sticks, but combine the two and somehow, thar be probs. Sure, if this lock can hold it in one hand, then that's doable. But two? Tiny blood elf pallies can totally handle that monster, but there's something about warlockery that changes even the big orcs into weaklings.
Why can't my holy pally hold a dagger? Come on, I promise, she won't even use it; just leech all its stats. I guess pallies just aren't subtle. At all. Attempts to teach stabby stabby by the great gurus resulted in furrowed brows, a few injuries, and several panic attacks. They're going to stick with the elaborate swinging motions, thank ya. On that note, why can't she hold a staff? Pointy staff, no problem. But stickz = idk.
Then there is the drood inability to wield swords. They can channel the powers of nature, shapeshift into formidable beasts, and even harness moon and star energy to zap an opponent into oblivion; but long pointy sticks? Perhaps the elders simply felt that swords were detrimental to the drood granola-halo image. Or, one-too-many accidents while shifting into lolbare and they were all issued pocket knives and dull sticks.
Then there are hunters. We're just too sophisticated to bash stuff with a big club; and you all just be jealous.
What is it that bothers you about your class' weapon abilities (or your rival class' for that matter)? Do you accept Blizz's logic unwaveringly, or is there that nagging little bit that haunts your dreams while napping between raids?

So... As a hunter, I can stab people. I can slice people. I can shoot you repeatedly and in various interesting ways from up to 41 yards away. Hell, I can bash you with a stick, poke you with a pointy stick, or even toss pointy objects at you.
...But I can't smack you with a stick with a big weight at the end? Hell, even priests and rogues can do that. Is it some sort of psychological shortcoming in the hunter's psyche that prevents us from hitting people with a big hammer?

I don't mind it one bit.
I like that there's an unspoken normalization of weaponry for classes too. Like BRK suggests, hunters are skewed toward polearms or 2H axes. Feral Druids go after staves(Earthwarden notwithstanding). All healing classes go for a 1H Mace, two of them get a healing shield, two of them get a healing offhand.
Personally, I'd like a bit more weapon variation wrt specs, and in the vein of the Illidari Bane weapon.
Let's say I'm a retibution or protection paladin and because I don't raid frequently, I purchase a Gavel of Unearthed Secrets. Or I'm a survival hunter and the best I can score is a Guile of Khoraazi and a Riftmaker.
I wish there was an optional quest to "modify" your epic weapon(s) of choice into an ideal. Like if David Wayne could take 1 Gavel of Unearthed Secrets, 1 Honor's Call, 10 primal manas, some junk from from the Argent Dawn, and, of course, a primal might, and my tankadin winds up with an Epic spelldamage mace with defense, shield block, and an attack speed of 1.7
Similar weapons could be made for DW shammies for +STR and +spellpower, a 2H hammer for retspecs, and a polearm with +100 agility for those endangered survivalists.

tbh when on this matter u could ask the same question why a hunter(which i play) isnt able to grasp the means of using holy powers in battle there stll skills
well its simple it;s because blizard didnt think holy powers en hunters go well together
just the same with weapons mages can use swords but they cant use axes or maces just beacause blizzard thought that axes and maces dont realy fit in with mages
well theres answer: because blizzard sais so.

I will never fully understand why shamans can't use one handed or two handed swords. I suppose there's the idea of using a weapon "only meant for killing people," as opposed to one that can be used to chop wood or hunt, but come on. By that logic, shamans should be able to use bows and guns.
I'm not arguing that shamans need to have one handed and/or two handed swords, mind you. I'm just not sure I understand the reasoning beyond game balance issues, and those don't seem pressing enough to take precedence.

Quite historical too, warrior monks in the middle ages typically used blunt weapons so as not to shed blood (theoretically) which was against their religion.
