If the hunter was close enough to wingclip you, he was close enough to spamstring, cripple, frostshock, or earthbind.

His weakness is his melee range. Stay in it and he is a very dead hunter. Believe me you can out dps him there. Sorry you're not going to be able to attack him and not take damage at all. You didn't really thing attacking an opponent who could do nothing to you in response was 'balanced' did you?

And before you even say the word deadzone go back and read #32's post.
