Breakfast Topic: When will we see 2.3?
The list of issues with Patch 2.3 on the PTR is growing, and with each patch they load up on the test realms, a new set of issues arise. It's a massive patch, with so much in it that we have had to deal with it in chunks. Everywhere you look this patch is affecting the game in some way. The question remains then, with so much going on with this patch, when will we see it?
Honestly, often times they do what they can with fixing the major issues with a patch, then push it through, and then hotfix anything that arises afterward. Also, there is only so much you can find on a public test realm. I am reminded of all those mobs that were swimming through the ground for weeks after Patch 2.0. And what about Jerome outside of Silvermoon City, who wandered around with his bottle floating outside his hand for months after the release of TBC?
So we can start the speculation now about when the patch move onto the live servers. Personally, I am looking toward the second week of November. This dev team needs to move on, needs to start finishing up the Sunwell encounter, heck, they need to start building us an expansion, am I right? When do you think we will see 2.3?

Actually, no. I'm not in any huge rush to see the next expansion. Heh. But that's just me.

Ye, why the hell do so many people pressure Blizz into releasing a patch early and then whine about all the bugs it causes coz it wasn't properly finished. If u want something done right, done well, then u have to be patient idiots

I don't care how long it takes. Get it right- I'm having fun as it is. Also, they have more than 5 developers...geez. Stir it up, stir it up...

I want the time I spent reading this "article" back.

I hope that it takes long enough for me to accumulate the marks/honor points to start collecting my Arena Season 1 Set when the patch goes live, but not long enough for Blizzard to decide not to allow BGers to buy arena gear ;) .
Xip Oct 28th 2007 9:43AM
@6 QFT - I'm really glad that I can jump into arenas wearing a decent set of gear as soon as I hit 70, rather than spending months working my way up.

I don't think we'll see any patch until the release of Wrath of the Lich King.
outforprophets Oct 28th 2007 9:48AM
Well, if these issues aren't related to increased leveling from 20-60, just release that part only! Please Blizz, I don't want to be level 70 when it becomes easier to level!

Can I have a mute button for TonyMotorola, he has never posted anything constructive.

I think its for X-mas or Late Decemeber. But have we heard if they are fixing the male shoulderpads or just leaving them?

It will be out sometime in November.
If it's not, I'll be highly dissapointed since I'm really excited for this patch.
Medros Oct 28th 2007 10:23AM
I am sure it won't be out before halloween. I agree, the first week or two of November are likely, but it really depends on how the patch is coming on the PTR, as I admit I haven't been over there in about a week or two. As Blizz says, and they are right to do so, it will be out when it's ready, just like the expansion will be.

Sorry with 9 million subscribers at $15/month, Blizzard should get it right much faster than they do. Other MMO's with far smaller budgets release more content that WoW does.

"Pick two, Good, Fast, Cheap"
It's a free content patch so that just leaves one more choice. Do you want it good or fast? You can't have both.
Nati Oct 28th 2007 11:20AM
@17: It's not free. We pay for it through our monthly subscription fee.
Shadowisp Oct 28th 2007 11:33AM
Blizz has to take a hard look at the way they do these content patches... 2.3 Was suppose to be ZA, now its the ever increasing monster patch from hell.
I think they are too large and are problematic. They should think of rolling out smaller segmented patches.
Worse is the way the known errors in the patch appear.
If you read through the list some of the errors seem to be unrelated to the any of new content. WTF! Those are the strangest things, how stable is this code when Bosses in instances not touch start acting irregular (classic one: Onyxia Deep Breath error)

I've been predicting the first week of December, right around the time we got 2.0 last year, for a nice early Christmas present.
tython25 Oct 28th 2007 1:26PM
@19- Could not agree more. The fact that so many classes need fixing still is quite sad.
With regards to ZA, I think another troll instance is pretty unoriginal when there's other races/ factions they could have gone with. It might fit some continuing storyline from ZG, but I'd rather be fighting something else similar to Kara. That place was very well done.
