First Illidan China kill by The Seven

Incgamers has an interesting point, however-- Chinese players, getting BC so late, supposedly had the benefit of all the nerfs and tweaks that Blizzard added to all the encounters since it first was released here. From Vashj's bugginess to the attunement removal, it could be argued (I'll leave this one up to you guys) that China is playing a much easier Outland endgame.
At any rate, downing Illidan is always an achievement, no matter what game you're playing. Grats to The Seven in China-- now here's hoping they go back and actually try enjoying that raid content!

Well, benefits from the nerfs and tweaks, in addition to theoretically benefitting from the huge number of boss kill videos and strategy guides that have been written about the content. Still, being the first 25 out of a billion people is a pretty big deal, so grats to them.

i couldn't make out the last character cause my memory sucks. they call themselves 'the seven day ?' something or another.
Quethias Oct 29th 2007 4:22PM
see, chinese players arent just trying to get you to buy their gold, they're being proactive!
Stormtamer Oct 29th 2007 4:31PM
Gratz to them.
One thing i think, is that when instances get refined like Black Temple has, before some people have any access to it, the instance is made to what Blizzard and the players feel is what it should be.
The US and EU guild who played through the unrefined content can whine all they like about the difficulty of the instance and getting there, 'back in the day' and now having the 'easier version' in China, but its Blizzards choice to give them that content after changing the old stuff to what they wanted. (Thats why we have PTR's, cos changes they make in what they dont think is the best content, arnt given to everyone).
So if Blizzard feels this version of Black Temple thats only just been released in China is what they want it to be, and know people can beat, people can whine but its just what happens when an MMO moves forward.
Same can be said about anything thats been changed that benefits new people now, morethan it could of been for people who have aready done it.
Just from stuff i do (and i dont even raid Kara) Fishing is now shorter and easier than it was, leveling will be in 2.3, even getting season one arena gear (which im going after, AV FTW), Id of loved that stuff back at the start of Burning Crusade or Vanilla WoW but i couldnt.
Stuff moves on and Blizzard kinda dictates it and thats the way the game goes i guess.

@3 I figured we would make it at least 5 comments before stereotypes based on race appeared lol.
hpavc Oct 29th 2007 4:39PM
I cannot believe people are taking these dudes to task for taking down Illidan in T3 gear. What exactly are you saying about anyone that isn't this far outside of China then?
Chuddy Oct 29th 2007 4:41PM
Someone order wonton soup?
Crumbles Oct 29th 2007 4:45PM
Looks photo-shopped imo, you can see in the backround of the item stats, just what I noticed. If it is real, a major congrats to them, love seeing all the ally in T3 destroy the competition.
Riptidez Oct 29th 2007 4:45PM
Yeah honestly, give them some big ups. It's not like they had a choice of when they could play TBC; they had to wait on blizzard to release it there.
I think anyone who says differently probably isn't raiding BT yet :-)

it means the seventh level of heaven, a buddhist thing.

...
Amazing.
Rather than QQing because they are better than everyone else, wouldn't it be more productive to find out how they did it? Now THAT would be an amazing article.
And "At any rate, downing Illidan is always an achievement, no matter what game you're playing. Grats to The Seven in China-- now here's hoping they go back and actually try enjoying that raid content!" - I don't understand. Why are we hoping that?

The last character means "room" or "hall". The third character means "day". "Day hall" means heaven in Chinese. You can't just translate Chinese based on individual character.
FantomRedux Oct 29th 2007 5:20PM
@ 10, because enjoying the raids is what the entire games about. For all we know they may have rushed it trying to get the first Illidan kill, and not had time to enjoy it. Now that they have that immense achievement under their belt, they can go back and enjoy it can't they

I noticed that, why would they translate "Seven Heavens" to "The Seven"?
Bentley Oct 29th 2007 6:20PM
The guild's name is not The Seven Guild, it is Seventh Heaven. If you translate the words one by one it means literally teh, seventh, sky, hall. But together it means Seventh Heaven. Horrible translations by WoR.
Downing Illidan in 50 some days is simply amazing, regardless of nerfs and what not. It was not their own choice to wait for nerfs and then attempt BT. It was because Blizzard did not release the game until recently. My friend's 60 hunter sitting on full T3 has waited for long enough for BC to come out to enjoy its content. Gotta give props to these guys.
STFU about stereotypes. This article's last sentence is pretty ignorant and stereotypical. By actually downing Illidan in 52 days DOES NOT mean they did not enjoy the content.
Sephirah Oct 29th 2007 6:23PM
@8 yes, the background of the loot is quite strange actually... a pumpkin under the legendary and other players under the purples...
jumb Oct 29th 2007 7:12PM
Obviously, they took pictures of the loot after they left BT, probably from one of the major cities, and then stuck them on. Doesn't seem sus at all to me, good on them.

Well, it is a Chinese guild. The translated name of their guild is seventh level of heaven. And they gave the guild a simply English symbol called "The Seven". Since it is just a symbol, please don't expect too much on an English symbol of a Chinses guild.

amazing~ just about a month and a harf after they first got to TBC~
