Around Azeroth: Aszhara coast
Mool of Turalyon (EU) shares this shot of the Shattered Strand in Aszhara with us. Devoid of its usual Naga inhabitants, this beach looks a lot more friendly (though they aren't as bad as Murlocs, I have never known Naga to take kindly to visitors) -- though the deserted ruins in the rain are hardly cheerful.

Brr. I hate Azshara. I'm not sure why; it might be the overabundance of gold farmers, or the fact everything is spaced out and takes forever to reach, or the scarcity of quests, or the fact that I grinded XP like crazy in this zone because it fell right in a "hole" in my leveling curve and I was out of quests.
Either way, Azshara is a hellhole I'd rather not visit again on any of my alts.

The now dead website called 'Lost WoW' used to have information on an unfinished PVP battleground in Azshara.
If they finished making content in this area, it might see some use again.
So much wasted potential...
The unfinished Timbermaw Gates at Bears Head.
The unfinished temples and ruins surrounding the coast.
The unfinished battlegrounds.
The quests in this area are restricted to one half of the area. It's as if developers simply forgot that Azshara existed or something.
The only good thing about this area is, many useful old-world herbs like Dreamfoil and Sansam root are plentiful. Also, the Mage Tower you can get teleported to is pretty neat too. Unfinished, but still neat.

It is Azshara not "Aszhara"

I love the look of Azshara - it's definitely one of my favorites in the game from an aesthetic viewpoint. But I do agree with #2, the potential of this place is completely wasted. This could have been a great alternative to the 50-55 grind of Un'Goro/Felwood/WPL/Burning Steppes, but as it stands there just isn't much to do there. Admiring the scenery is nice for awhile but it does get boring.

Yeah, there's a lot of unfinished potential in Azshara.
Just as there was in Dustwallow Marsh before patch 2.3.
Hm...

Silithus was the same way before they patched in AQ, the FP in silithus was near the entrance and really no quests there at all except the hunter quest and thunderfury quest.
