Warlock soloes the Horseman
So how'd he deal with tanking? Unfortunately, it seems like the whole thing is based on a pathing exploit-- the player can jump up on that ledge at the end of the fence, but the Horseman can't, so he basically "juggles" the bad guy back and forth while dotting and nuking him. The job gets harder when the pumpkins show up, but it's the same thing-- jump up and then jump back down when the Horseman gets close. If Blizzard had known about this, they probably could have fixed that pretty easily.
But I don't mean to downplay Deadmasters' achievement-- clearly he's geared up right for the fight (look at those Affliction DoTs go!), and by the outtakes at the end, you can see that juggling the mobs just right was no easy task. It'll be interesting to see if Blizzard makes changes in the encounter next year, though-- by then, we may be level 80, and who knows what horrors will lie in the SM GY?

Never ending mana... nerf

Help me out here... I can't make out what dropped.

O.P.

Yea he is taking advantage of a exploit, but impressive none the less.

Wow, he figured out an exploit. Something tells me that a Headless Horseman with any sense would not be thwarted by a foot-high wall and start running back and forth like a yapping dachshund. Then again, he doesn't have a head...

Even with the exploit, I don't think a mage or a shadow priest could have done that. Between mana and health issues, they'd have died trying to make it over the wall one of those times the horseman caught up to them.
I don't know, maybe next year someone can try it and film the results.

That was great. The exploit is nothing new to those of you who've watched the hunter solo Mennu in Heroic SP, but the Horseman fight is even more interesting with the adds in phase 3. Those must have been some heart wrenching wipes at the end there, too.

Well, watching the exact same move over and over got booooring after like... 22 seconds.
You may know how to solo the horseman, for that I salute you, but you have -m u c h- to learn about movie editing and how to keep an audience interested. I assume HH was killed in the end, I fell asleep.

"we may be level 80"
And we may all win the lottery, too.

#2/Todd "Help me out here... I can't make out what dropped."
Looked like 5 of the throwable Pumpkin Helmets, the +spell damage Horseman's Ring, and the Riding 150 broom.

at least he put in his mistakes :P
Kahja Nov 1st 2007 5:01PM
Kind of like the pathing I used to get a cloak from Dire Maul North about a year ago lol

Anyone wanna tell him that Horseman is spelled with an "a" and not an "e" in his opening scene? Cool though that he took it on, yawn worthy movie though. I'll give it 2 out of 5.

"clearly he's geared up right for the fight (look at those Affliction DoTs go!)"
Uh, I don't mean to be a downer, but he's just in a few pieces of arena gear and some blues.

Oh noes, it's an exploit! 'Locks are so OP! Psch, whatever. Your average Tom, Dick or Harry couldn't just do that on the fly, something like that takes a lot of skill and effort. It's hardly a 'shortcut' to achieve any sort of unfair advantage either, given the ease of the alternative - it's about bragging rights, pure and simple.
Felbane Nov 2nd 2007 9:28AM
I see it's already started... bring on the cries of "OP!" and "Nerf!". Nevermind the priest that soloed Scholo, or the hunter that soloed some boss in DM (I can't remember)...

How does he never run out of mana?
Leyl Tyranas Nov 2nd 2007 2:22PM
@17: Lifetap to regain mana, and a giant ability to regain health without effort (Drain Life, Siphon Life).
