WoW Moviewatch: The Fifth Horseman
WarcraftMovies ran a Halloween Machinima contest this year. Baron Soosdon of I'm So Sick and Unlimited Escapism fame came in second place with this horrific tale of corruption and mayhem.
The Baron has been criticized in the past for lack of narrative. This time, he created a film that followed one man's journey into the heart of darkness, and the terrifying consequences. It's on the bloody side, so if you don't like slasher flicks, I wouldn't recommend viewing this one.
As usual, avoid the embedded stream for Baron movies and check out the Stage 6 link for high quality picture.

The movie was technically well done, the use of lighting and such is very good, but the narrative was terrible. The "story" was extremely lacking.

Honestly, I don't know what you're looking for in a 4 minute movie, but the story was realized. Man is driven by visions to his doom, and brings doom upon others. It's not intended to be Moby Dick.

The movie was good, the search for the woman at the end excellent; but it really needed a film noir narrative. That would have made for some VERY good watching. Length of movie was pretty good too. My first 4 out of 5, losing a rating because it really needed speaking...

Nice and creepy. However, the link to the Stage 6 version is currently b0rked as I post this, and instead links erroneously back to "I'm so sick" instead.

This vid IS very good. It LOOKS very good. (If you ignore the camera clipping, which is always a fat minus in Soosdon movies.)
The story also begins very nice but ends like a bad Stephen King book (and as we all know, King screws up most of his endings). I think Soosdon should have done what he does best;
A surrealistic piece of effect overkill with trance-music and neat halloween model edits.
This way, he would have placed 1st :D
Sorry for my English btw, I'm German (and my teachers obviously can't manage to teach me SHIT)
