Breakfast Topic: Are you tired of Trolls?
Not the Internet kind, the Zul'Aman kind. I don't know about you, but visiting yet another troll based instance isn't ringing my bell. Maybe it has to do with my 15 level grind from hell in Stranglethorn Vale back in the day. Or some bad wipes in Zul'Gurub.Either way, I want to experience something new. Not something old with better loot. Plus, as Phaelia at Resto4Life pointed out, the better loot may not be worth the public humiliation.
What do you think? Are you happy to revisit a classic World of Warcraft themed dungeon like Zul'Aman, which, despite its looks, has new mechanics and bosses or are you yearning for something new like Sunwell Plateau?

I for one am quite pleased that gear is moving away from the 'Power Rangers' look and feel.
Orcs need barbaric gear, like bone axes, studded warrior leather armor, and savage polearms with cruel barbs jutting out all over the place.
Seriously, I don't remember seeing any Orc 'Power Rangers' in Warcraft 2.

Trolls are alright, but as a Lovecraft fan I would like to see more instances/quests/development of the old gods, forgotten ones, etc. C'Thun was a good start, but something new would be great.

I'd like to see some underutilized races like tauren, or night elf.
Or some npc race dungeons, like furbolg, moonkin, centaur, those timbermaw guys, or something.

I always will love kill the Hordies :>

I also noticed that yet again you posted a picture of a Human wearing Druid gear. 3rd time now?
You rascals, torturing me. :)
You KNOW that I want to play a Human Druid.
/sigh...

Yeah...I was a little disappointed to hear that this was a troll-based instance. I'd like to see more in the way of new models/creatures. I know it takes time but...c'mon...Blizzard is making money hand over fist. Pay a few more artists and let's see some entirely new content!

I don't like troll instances too much, but I hate naga ones even more, so it isn't too bad. What I do like about ZA/ZG/ZF is that they're outdoors and that it allows our druid friends a little more viability due to outdoor CC.
However, one thing I really cannot stand about ZA is the armor art, it's horrendous. What the heck is Blizzard thinking?! At least the ZG suits looked kind of cool. I much prefer the "hard" armor look of T3-T6 stuff... you know, more gothic/medieval looking. These fruit-suits remind me of the joke that was the BoN/AQ40 sets.

I would like to see somthing a lot darker than what where use to. Kara was fun but not nearly dark enough.I want to see deep and mysterious dungeons with lots of creepy things - old school stuff never gets old.

i am excited about ZA but only secondary for the experience (even tho i still think very affectionately for ZG) but primarily for the loot and badges and the gear they entail.
I do think I will tire very quickly of ZA, I have read/heard it is initially a challenge but quickly masterable

hinterlands and STV aside, troll infested areas are usually pretty fun. and i agree with #2 in saying that we need less floating pink things and more bone-axes and pointy hurty things.
plus, who DOESN'T want a new zin'rokh? srsly, that thing brings back memories. jin'rokh. awesome.
alienatheart Nov 3rd 2007 2:44PM
i would love to see a night elf instance.
Heraclea Nov 3rd 2007 4:09PM
The race that really seems underrepresented as enemies in high level dungeons is . . . human.
After Deadmines and Shadowfang Keep, the only other instance I can think of that's filled with human enemies is Old Hillsbrad, and the end bosses are not humans.
Arturis Nov 3rd 2007 4:51PM
@Heraclea
5 Human enemy Instances:
Deadmines
Shadowfang Keep
Stockades
Scarlet Monastery
Old Hillsbrad
(plus a large number of humans found in Scholomance, but that is largely considered an Undead instance)
Compare to the 3.5 Troll enemy instances:
Zul'Farrak
Zul'Gurub
Zul'Amon
Sunken Temple (has an entire Troll wing)
Arturis Nov 3rd 2007 4:53PM
Also, Scarlet side Stratholme is also Human
Zghuk Nov 3rd 2007 4:59PM
troll instances are usually one of the best themed! ZF is classic, everybody does it like SM (ask for mauraudon? temple? no!)
trolls have a big history in warcraft since the old horde ravaged through the lands! and trolls and bloodelves are even linked!
the only bad thing: the visual appearance of zul'jin is ridiculous! hakkar had a good style, buth zul'jin? an understated giant troll? omfg.
Juliah Nov 4th 2007 12:13AM
I understand that it fits with the lore, but yes, I agree with you. I'm bored with troll instances.
mitchellangelo86 Nov 5th 2007 11:17AM
I agree with Dan on this one. I NEVER cared for anything troll related. And as a Paladin, I think that the Pally gear out of ZA, while good stats-wise, is STUPID looking! I'm supposed to be a holy knight, i don't want to wear voodoo masks. Seriously, come on...
At least make the new BoJ turn ins look different (ie NOT troll like)!
