If you're smart enough, no mage can break you out of stealth, and way to go for you. It's true that rogue aren't that hard for a frost mage, but a skilled well-geared rogue blowing all his cooldowns can destroy a frost mage, unless the mage is lucky.

Of course there may be exceptions, there are always better players out there. Whoever thinks that skill is nothing and gear is all, is very very wrong.
