When I was doing boring (now WoW) stuff, I noticed an icon in my tray for the Background Downloader, when I clicked it it disappeared - like it was furtively hiding it's work.
So, I went looking for it in my WoW dirs and there it was, so I started it and it began downloading the 'WoW-2.2.3-to-2.3.0-enUS-patch'. I canceled the download because I'm not sure it's release time and don't want to get my version out of synch with the live servers.
Does anyone know where the downloader would store the file and what would cause it to be installed? Would it be safe to go ahead and download it now so that I don't have to endure the slowdown of 9 million other downloads?
