Have you been neglecting your alts?
When I first heard about the leveling improvements that are forthcoming with patch 2.3, I was very happy. As an admitted alt-o-holic, creating and leveling alts is the main thing that's kept me interested in WoW for the past three years. When the last expansion came out, I had five level sixty characters, with one more nearly there, and I've been diligently leveling them up to seventy since then. My ultimate goal is to level up one of each class at some point and I'm only three more characters away from success. The next patch will definitely help push my Shaman, Mage and Priest up through the ranks. When the long wait times for character copies subsided, I transfered my level forty shaman to the test realm in order to check out the improved experience gains. The good news is that the change was certainly noticeable. While I don't have any hard data, with full rested experience, I was able to gain about three levels in just a few hours while doing quests that were mostly green to me. The bad news is that I've been spoiled by the new experience rate and have been unable to continue leveling my alts on the live server.
Have you experienced anything similar? Are your alts being neglected until 2.3 comes out?

I gave all my alts to my brother. He actually has time to enjoy them. I can only focus on my main! >.<
I had made one of each Tauren class, and leveled them all to 60 pre-BC expansion. After quitting WoW for a month, my brother leveled them all up to 70. I stole my Druid back, and let him keep the rest.
Heh heh. Unfortunately he didn't work on any of my reoutations. I actually had to work hard just to 'keep up' with the other players and their normal level/rep progression.
I recently used the name change to turn my Druids old name of 'Autumnbear' to 'Spiritkeeper'.
Now my old name is locked for 90 days. :(

I have to admit that I've neglected my Lv 12 'lock since I read about the XP changes - despite the enjoyment I get from playing him.
It's been business as usual for my main, though.

"Neglected" sounds soooo negative. I prefer to think of it as giving my alts a nice break before I march them on the glorious ride to 60!
It's just coincidence that I make sure they're all at least level 20 before they take that break.

I was in the middle of leveling a brand new paladin alt, I got him to 35 when news of the xp increases came and stopped dead in my tracks and went back to getting my warrior to 70. He's 62 now and its becoming more and more painful for me to play him, I miss my paladin :( QQ

I stopped playing every one of my alts that weren't in the 20-60 range. Which means I've only been playing my hunter (up to 64 now) and my second shaman (up to 8 now).

Unfortunately, I've started neglecting my main. I just started playing again after passing along my old account several months back. When I heard about the changes coming in 2.3 I went from getting to level 19 in three days to being only level 23 a week and half later.

Unfortunately, I'm currently on my first character, hes currently 45.
But over the weekend I have started to rack up some honor points and WSG MoH so I can buy some good PvP reward armor with lots of +spell and +stam at 48.

^^"Wanted by 50." is the one I'm working towards, around 1500 honor points and 150 WSG MoH. Shouldn't take long to earn that in WSG, already nearly got all the HP, just need the MoH, and then I'll proberly stick around Lvl.48, just so I don't have to say "no, sorry, can't come to Uldaman, don't wanna level" to my guildies! xD
Anyhow, yeh, HOPEFULLY 2.3 comes out before I'm bored to death grinding honor in WSG/AB....then I'll make my way to 60. Honestly, I think I have come out of this the best, as I have got to a point where BGs are really fun to play, so I can happily grind in their and make my 50-60 even easier with some rarther nice PvP rewards....
Also, I have always thought of Alts as stupid, because I hated leveling from 20-30, and wondered why anyone would want to keep doing it, never mind to 40, then 50, then 60....heh.....but now, it seems even I will be able to stand to get some alts...

I'm currently neglecting my 58 Affliction Lock (my main, yes I know I'm new) in favor of leveling a Rogue to catch up to my girlfriend so she has someone to quest with around her level. Too bad she's a hunter and has 10 levels on me right now.

I've stopped levelling all my alts between the levels of 20 and 60 in hopes 2.3 comes out soon. Just been playing my main and getting toons to 20 and also levelling some of their professions. I thought it would be a waste of time to level them now and then have it become a lot easier in the next few weeks.

I've stopped leveling my two alts in the 20-40 range in anticipation for the next patch. I still hop around on my 70s (three of them) and work on my 60s (3 of them)
Varatil Nov 4th 2007 10:18PM
I've stopped leveling my next prospective 70, my currently 34 hunter.
I farm dailies on my 70 and tinker with my 41 paladin and If possible get him high up before the patch. Might get three 70's if I do it right.

business as usual. who cares if patch 2.3 never comes around. i got my alt mage from 40 to 46 in 2 weeks. rested xp cos i neglected him for a long long time, while getting my other toons to 50s (pally, rogue, druid and warrior)
my 2 x 70 mains are running rep stuff. recently got sidetracked for 2 weeks into doing HH. the plate helm is uber cool.

I am lvling a druid on (PvP)Stormscale EU, my chars are on a normal server, stopped at lvl 22 few weeks ago and waiting for the buff mainly, nothing to do with getting ganked, thats the reason i made this char on a pvp server to have fun, just cba lvling another alt the whole way as it stands now.
Got 4 lvl 70s atm but the buff will give some nice motivation to lvl my druid.
Autumnbear Nov 4th 2007 11:31PM
Heh.
If they ever introduced dual-classing, you wouldn't even NEED to play alts. Unless of course you wanted to play another race instead.
Stig Nov 4th 2007 11:49PM
I neglected to level anything cause I get so bored of leveling, mostly since the majority of people are already 60-70 and leveling is so solitary. I don't enjoy the solitary part of the game so much. But I just rolled a new hunter and leveled it to the 20s and am waiting to continue until 2.3. I'm so glad they finally made this change.

My alts are all on hold until I finish earning the cash for my flying epic mount. Only 700 gold to go...
Chuck Nov 5th 2007 12:56AM
I have my main, which I do my Netherwing Dailies on (Only 3000 rep to go till exaulted!). And I also have a level 65 Paladin which I level up and play most currently.
I stopped leveling my 30 Warlock and Mage once I heard about the XP Change! Plus it made me wanna finish getting to the top with my paladin.
Girl Meets WoW Nov 5th 2007 1:18AM
For me, it's more that I'm using 2.3 as a reason to really push my third character to 70 so that I can concentrate more on the low-level alts when the patch hits. I guess you could call that neglecting them, but only so that I can give them my full attention in the near future.
