A lot of shaman problems come from the fact that, unless they go resto, no one will bring them. No one cares about the viability of their DPS, the totem buffs, etc etc... no one cares. They want someone to CC a mob, and they'll take a mage who can barely play his class but who knows where the polymorph key is over a well skilled shaman every time.
