WoW Moviewatch: The Simpsons Game, Neverquest trailer
A while back, I found out from Gamebunny that a spoof on the MMO genre is an important part of The Simpsons Game, which just went on sale at the beginning of this month. We featured a Simpsons WoW spoof in a WoW Moviewatch some time ago, and as you can see from this trailer, a lot of the feeling and sound of the game is very reminiscent of WoW. Somehow this sort of making fun feels to me like the very height of praise for WoW and the impact it's had on the market. If the Simpsons make fun of it, it's got to be good.
This portion of the game is called "Neverquest," and I would definitely try it out if I could. Has anyone played this? Is it as fun as it seems in this video? Does it actually play at all like WoW plays, or is the similarity only in the look of it?

Its funny that you regard this spoof as the peak of praises for WoW when the name of it is Neverquest.
WoW isn't the only MMO that ever was and certainly not the first.
You also clearly know nothing about The Simpsons Game. The entire game plays like that (like GTA mostly).

Hm, agree that saying "peak of praises for Wow" is little over the top -- not really anything in that clip that screams "WARCRAFT is GOD" to me, sorry.
@1 author said he didn't play it, already. ex: "I would definitely try it out if I could" Reading comprehension ftw.

Simpsons games are cursed. Even this latest one, which finally uses the look of the actual cartoon (instead of creepy 3D versions of the characters). At first glance, it looks like lots of fun, but if you've tried the demo, it's all gimmick and lacking in fun. I found it frustrating and annoying...

The stage actually spoofs many different fantasy games, maybe the most suprising is Gauntlet. On the XBOX 360 version, at one point the game actually goes to over-head Guantlet style with appropriate music and such. And the final boss is fought in an old-school Joust style parody.
If you're a fan of the show, it's a decent platformer game. Not hugely innovative in the way it plays, but very very funny writing.

@2 I haven't played it either, but somehow I know what the game is like. Amazing.
Gaming awareness FTW.

The game is def not worth the money, but it's worth a rent for a good laugh.
