Patch 2.3 will ruin the game and destroy Azeroth
Okay, so far we've talked a lot about all the good stuff coming in Patch 2.3, and that's great. I'm very excited about it, myself, and I'm sure a lot of you are as well. There are new engineering changes and faster leveling complete with adjustments to old world dungeons, and I for one am very interested to see what happens with Elemental shamans. So, we've established that there's tons of new stuff coming, and we've detailed and celebrated it. Now, I ask you: what do you hate? What are you least looking forward to? What change to a class, to PvP, to gear, what dungeon changes, what do you really wish wasn't about to happen tomorrow? Are you unhappy with the changes to Alterac Valley? Do you hate the idea of expertise and needing another stat for tanking? Do you just hate the idea of some other class getting buffs to a specific talent tree or see some change as a nerf to your own ability?
Nobody's always happy, and I'm sure there's a few changes in this patch that are irritating you. What are they? Consider this your chance to vent before the storm.

I personally hate dumb patches provoking dumb reactions, such as dumb articles.
While I'm still talking about dumb... .jpg for images with 6 colors win at the intranet of 1995.

On my RP server, we've used Zul'Aman for weddings and other events. My warlock got married there. So I'll miss the empty space.

hey Adys, be more weary of dumb reply posts.
I think what I hate most, being a rogue, is the change to the talent tree that is used the least. But then again, maybe that is the idea, to get Rogues to use subtlety more.

I don't like them taking off the short auctions. Stuff like bags get undercut so fast, I like to relist them more often without losing my deposit.

Need MORE FREE PIE!

Lowering Heroic Key to Honored is a bad idea.

Having to rebuild MazzleUI yet again, at least it should tell me what's f'ed up on it this time.
mizatt Nov 12th 2007 5:47PM
I agree that lowering the requirement to honored is a dumb idea. I have enough trouble with pugs sometimes in the regular versions
bnorman Nov 12th 2007 5:50PM
My UI getting screwed up. But that's what I hate with every patch day...

/agree re: heroic requirements. Somehow people have gotten keyed, despite some pretty bad gear.
It's only going to get worse. I can see the LFG channel now:
LF3M - Tank/Healz/DPS no GREENZ

I can't honestly say there's a whole lot that I'm not looking forward to. Lowering the Heroic Keys to honored doesn't seem like the brightest idea, but I never run PUG Heroics anyway (it's just asking for trouble).
Beyond that, any of my mods that get screwed up, but that always happens with a patch. 2.3 seems about as much of an all-around win as a patch can really be to me.

The new /stopcasting mechanic is amazingly awful.

I'm fairly happy with this patch. However, I'm not sure why bringing down Heroics to only needing Honored rep is so bad I think its just more people upset that they had to do the rep grind than anything else. The main people I'm going to be running it with is guildmates anyways and now I don't have to do more rep grinding to do heroics with them. I have good gear too I only really need to replace my gloves and I'll be in all 70 blues.
Oblitherax Nov 12th 2007 6:03PM
I'm a hunter, what do I have to be upset about?
Tim Small Nov 12th 2007 6:08PM
I have three alts at 70 and I lok forward to bringing the last one to heroics without having to grind for another week.
Ghost Nov 12th 2007 6:10PM
I think the lowering of the requirements for heroics is a bad idea. I also think it was inevitable. Blizzard is coming out with a new expansion. One of the big complaints about their last expansion is the number of people who did not get to see the end game content. Making heroics more available means that more good loot is available. It'll make PUG Karazan and Zul'Aman much more doable - people will be better geared pre-Karazhan (especially with the new badge loot). It'll allow more people to actually go to Gruul, Mags, SSC, and TK. Will they be wildly successful? Probably not -- but they'll be able to go.
For me, as someone currently raiding in SSC and TK (3/6 and 2/4) this will be bad. For the guy who plays one night a week who wants to see Karazan, it'll mean he can gear up before the expansion and actually get to see Karazan and Zul'Aman.

Why are they buffing warriors... they don't need it imo... (I play rogue and thats the only class I have serious issues with)... rebuilding my UI isn't going to be fun, either :P
