Breakfast Topic: Using server downtime productively
.jpg)
- Read up on Zul'Aman, from the lore to the loot.
- Make a plan to update your addons. My first stop will be Curse's Patch Portal, which will list the addons that have updates. You may also want to consider automating the process if you find it too time-consuming or stressful. Try downloading the Curse Client and/or WoWAceUpdater.
- Check out Eric's guide to updating addons, viable even when your usual methods are not working, often due to the fact that everyone is also updating. Also see Elizabeth's guide.
- Head over to Massively and peruse some of the WoW-related content.
- Browse through past editions of AddOn Spotlight, the Creamy GUI Center, and Reader UI of the Week, or poke around websites like WoWAce and Curse to maybe inspire you to try something new.
- Play around with Wowhead's updated talent calculator and get your new build all planned out.

It seems like you guys have one of these topics pretty much every time the servers come down.

I spend every patch day the same, earning money to pay for the electricity to fuel my PC and continue to pay monthly WoW fees. I will also read the fantastic WoWInsider RSS feed.

Patch day! Time to do the stack of dishes that is in and around my sink, write a few letters I have neglected, and give the dog an extra-long morning walk, so she won't complain when I ignore her later...

Cleaning house and doing chores that are sorely neglected due to my WoW activities...

A good thing to do with your would be WoW time on patch days is to do a little computer maintenance.
Here's a little checklist for you!
*Make sure your Virus Protection programs are all updated (and run scans too!)
*Disk Clean-up
*Check if your Operating System has any updates
*Check your disks for possible errors
*Defragment
I'm sure there are others you can think of as well. Oh and if you use Addons make sure to install the Curse/Ace updaters, they are a tremendous help!

I, personally, have been updating my guild web page with all of the new patch updates and patch notes to help guildies understand what the new patch brings. From class and racial changes to the new instances and pvp gear available.
This is a prime time, as a guild leader, to ensure the guild is up to speed on the changes, additions, and all of the fun new toys.

A lot of you seriously need something worthwhile in life to concentrate on besides WOW. It's just a patch with so many bugs coming it won't be fun for another week anyway.

Perhaps I will spend a small part of my downtime by canceling my WoW account. Not decided for sure yet though.

You guys are being so negative!
I forgot to add:
*Water my plants
*Catch up on laundry
*Make smoothies! Mmmm!

i always like to see how many times they update the estimated downtime and how it looks "to require more time than originally anticipated" , count, compare, and equate the length that wow has been released and show my boss ....
this way i can do horrid at my job too and get away with so much it's down right hilarious (boss plays wow too)
