I am not there. I do not die.
Frequent commenter Heraclea, in commenting on John's post about Pleasant Patch Surprises, managed to do just that as far as I'm concerned. Mentioning that a new questgiver in Stormwind was giving out an odd delivery quest to a person on the Aldor Rise in Shattrah, I decided this needed exploration. To make it harder on myself, I hopped onto my night elf warrior, a poorly geared 70 Scryer, to see if the quest was limited to Aldor only. After a brief sidetrack in Stormwind where I did an old level 10 warrior quest requiring me to beat a drunk up for his mug and made an astonishing 4 gold for the whole experience, I made my way to Stormwind Keep and sure enough, a little girl gave me Alicia's poem and some gold to deliver it to Shattrah. Amazingly, I was able to ride right onto the Aldor rise and hand the poem to Caylee Dak, a night elf huntress.
The poem is based upon this one, which is somewhat famous as a remembrance or funeral poem, with some changes to make it work for Azeroth and Outland. This quest reminds me slightly of the Letter of Sully Ballou quest in that it was inspired by a real life writing. It's an interesting easter egg that reminded me, as someone living in Canada, that Remembrance Day was this week and for you Americans, Veteran's Day was as well. Yet another real life holiday making it into Azeroth? I don't know, but I would find it very interesting if this is how they chose to do it, and somewhat fitting.

Wowhead had more information on this though the comment that did provide the youtube link is no longer on there. There is a link to a Chinese site with more information however.

Thank you for posting about this quest. It was the one of the few things I did a survey for on the PTR. It's very cool to know that Blizz took the time to do this.

/salute to Blizzard
Never forget those in your life, never let a day pass by when you do not cherish them, for there will come a day when they will be missed and departed, and you will never have the chance to say it again.

Caylee (Dak Krause) was a 28 year old friend in our guild (Boulderfist Heroes) that touched many players hearts. Sadly he died of leukemia on August 22, 2007. He was the type of player that you always looked forward to logging on. The type of player that would always help another. Dak, you are missed by so many. Blizzard truly has a heart of gold for placing his character in the game for all to see with his trusty pet Dusky at his side.
Caylee (Dak Krause), a fallen hero.

@ Atlantian (#4):
I visited your Guild's site, and was moved to see screenshots of the memorial service and the emotional speech at its conclusion.
Then I hit the screenshots of people setting off fireworks and screaming about masturbation. Was this someone in your Guild's idea of 'humor,' or did some idiot interrupt the ceremony? No matter the context, it seems immensely disrespectful.

@ Atlantian (#4):
Nix the first part of what I said, I realized that the person taking the screenshots was casting fireworks spells in celebration of Dak's life. Sorry man.
Also I re-visited the gallery and as far as I can tell Masturbation Boy ('Elorfindel' or whatever) has nothing to do with your Guild.
Anyway ... RIP, Dak.

Yeah, we had about 2-3 people interrupting the service. In the video you will see one guy that kept jumping on his tiger over the progression. We had a druid that was dancing on the alter and at least one other person that was not being respectful. Shame. At least we didn't run into any Horde. We kept everything is Stormwind so that we wouldn't be harassed.... Guess that didn't work either.

Hello all. I was directed here by one of my great friends in the guild Boulderfist Heroes on the Boulderfist server.
It seems there was some confusion as to what was said in one of the screenshots where I very noticeably took center stage on.
First, I would like to say that Boulderfist Heroes was my home for at least two years prior to me leaving and joining my current guild, Dragon Knight. During that time I made SEVERAL friends that I still talk to on a regular basis. Dak was one of those friends. We all love him and miss him dearly, we are glad he is now better.
The screenshot in question is the one where I am being accused of talking about "masturbation" during the ceremony of Dak's life. Please look at that screenshot again, you will see that the word is spelled "masturVated." That is no spelling error, that is intentional.
If you really looked up my character you did see I am not in Boulderfist Heroes, but I was and am still associated with that guild. Also, you will notice that my character is a Night Elf Druid. Okay, time to put 2 and 2 together. Masturvate is the word I came up with to combine "masturbait" and "innervate," the Druid mana reagen spell. This word and the macro associated with it became VERY well liked from the moment I debut it in one of the Molten Core raids we were in. Dak attended these raids with us, and he too loved the macro. It is a macro I still use to this day, and is just as popular in my current guild, Dragon Knight. It has been altered a few times, but the key word is still in there.
This "pun" is an inside joke for people that know me, and Dak is one of those people. If you look at one of the previous screenshots, you will see that I was a part of the raid group that attended the service. I am associated with every single person (and more) on that raid tab. If what was said was so offensive, I highly doubt it would have been included in Boulderfist Heroes' memior celebrating Dak's life.
My toon has since received an accent over the last letter, Elorfindré. Even still, you looked up my character, why did you not create a toon on Boulderfist and send me a tell about what I "said?" There was no reason to degrade me on such a popular site like this one. Please do not take it out on myself, Boulderfist Heroes, or Dragon Knight (and the rest of the Legacy family, Saga and Dynasty).
Believe it or not, that macro is a salute to the hundreds of raids Dak was in with us, since it was used so many times in Molten Core, Blackwing Lair, and Ahn'Qiraj.
I implore you to please do more research prior to judging and labling someone as harsh as you did me. This makes me look extremely bad and makes Boulderfist Heroes and Dragon Knight look just as bad for having me there and associate with them. All it took was for you to send me a tell in game, or even a personal message on the BFH forums, and allow me to explain. Even still, all this is because you guys missed the letter "V" in place of the letter "B."
Thanks guys, you all have a great day!
