Undocumented Patch 2.3 changes and bugs
We've seen the live patch notes, pleasant patch surprises and the changes between PTR and live in 2.3. Now, the good citizens of Azeroth present the undocumented Patch 2.3 changes on WoWWiki and World of Raids. All the little changes are listed on the pages, so we've chosen to highlight the biggest undocumented changes. These may not apply to everyone, but have been noticed by people in the community.
General
- Boats and zeppelins which carry players now have NPC crews, including vendors.
- There is a new neutral flight path outside of Zul'Aman, which means you can now fly out from Silvermoon City.
- Whoever in a group has loot rights to a corpse will appear on the minimap (LOOT THE DOG!)
- There is now a log in the guild information tab that allows you to see promotions, kicks, joins and leaves.
- Mousing over the mail icon will show you the name of the mail sender.
- Track Humanoids distinguishes between friendly and hostile targets.
Professions
- Interactive items such as herbs now have a glow around them, making them easier to find.
- Primal Fire and Earth, and motes thereof, can be put in mining bags. Primal Water, Life, and Mana can be put in enchanting bags. Primal Life can be put in herbalism bags. All primals and motes can go in Engineering bags.
- The cooldown on Nexus Transformation has been eliminated.
Raids and Dungeons
- Karazhan has 14 new soundtracks.
- The chests in Heroic Ramparts and Mechanar are bugged -- if all the items are looted except for the Badges of Justice, the chest despawns and no one can get their badges.
- Shade of Akama appears to be extremely bugged after a wipe -- his adds no longer cast the channeling spell to hold him still, and he can be killed in 20-30 seconds.
- All loot in low-level instances has been increased to blue quality.
PVP
- Arena ratings will now be determined by the player's record, instead of the team's.
- New battleground rewards include boots, belts and bracers.
Season 1 arena rewards can be purchased for honor. This does not appear to be accurate.
Druids
Druids can decurse in tree form.(May not be accurate for all players.)
Hunters
- Hunter deadzone has been removed (well, we all knew that.)
- Freezing trap cannot be applied to two or more targets at the same time.
- Arcane Shot sometimes removes priest Shadowform (bug.)
Mages
- Ice Block can no longer freeze players in the air.
Paladins
- Fanaticism cannot reduce threat while Righteous Fury is active, if for some reason you had them both up.
Priests
- Prayer of Mending will not proc on periodic damage that is absorbed.
- Arcane Shot sometimes removes Shadowform (bug.)
Shamans
- The horrible free Tier 6 mistake
- The coefficients for Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning have been changed so as not to nerf elemental shaman DPS.
Warriors
- Several abilities appear to be bugged.

All loot in low-level instances has been increased to blue quality? Whats the deal with that?

Odd inconsistencies with profession bags continue. For example, why allow some Primals in enchanting bags, but not others? (i.e., Primal Shadow is also used in enchants).
Either allow ALL possible mats/tools for that profession to go in that bag (which would mean bars-but-not-ore for Eng and JC) or restrict it to clearly defined and reasonable subsets.

Was wondering what vendor sells the Season 1 Arena gear for Honor?

I found the vending machines on the zeppelin but I couldn't find a vendor that did repairs, are the repair vendors only on the boats?

Profession Windows are bugged. Sort by slot no longer works. Search no longer works. Categories no longer work.

I noticed the fp this morning, alliance side gilneas. It also seems to be that now you can fly from Light's Hope to Zul'Aman directly. Can anyone else confirm this?

Ret pallies with fanaticism want to still be able to offtank in emergencies, so if you pop righteous fury, your passive threat reduction goes away and you can grab aggro.
Good move, IMO.

Is this issue with ice block a bug or intentional, I wonder?

The chest from the Chess event will also disappear if looted before the badges are removed

@6: Yes, I did it last night.

We all knew about the Season 1 items being purchasable for honor, so I'd hardly call that undocumented.
And you missed another thing about bags, the new LW bags seem to be able to hold all the primals, though I haven't been able to test it for all of them.

The new hunter pet behavior that makes it try to get behind the target causes some problems. I was in both SM and Blood Furnace last night and if I sent my pet to attack a mob that was standing with it's back to a wall, Dash would activate and my cat would aim itself at the mob... and do nothing. I would have to shoot it and as it came running towards me, THEN my pet would attack.
I adapted to it relatively quickly, but it needs changing so that if the pet can't get behind the mob it attacks from the front. Perhaps that wil be addressed in the maintenence this morning.

Fanaticism isn't supposed to lower aggro with Righteous Fury active, it even says so in the tooltip.
"Increases the critical strike chance of all judgements capable of a critical hit by 15% and reduces threat caused by all actions by 30% except when under the effects of Righteous Fury."
porovaara Nov 14th 2007 1:25PM
Why the nerf to the weakest hunter tree? One of the hallmarks of such was being able to always keep multiple mobs CCd with traps in PVE.
jay Nov 14th 2007 1:24PM
@ 3
Season 1 arena gear ain't coming out till season 3 starts in afraid:)
me Nov 14th 2007 1:24PM
>Hunter deadzone has been removed
reduced maybe, but not removed it seems, or does this only effect Arena? BG's and PVE still seem to have a deadzone.

Some rep grinds have gotten easier, such as the Winterspring Trainers grind to get the purple 100% speed mount. Each repeatable quest used to give 75 rep with the trainer, now each gives 250 every time. I didn't see that in the patch notes or anywhere.
John Nov 14th 2007 1:28PM
"Freezing trap cannot be applied to two or more targets at the same time."
As a hunter that depends on this regularly when solo'ing WTF? I cant trap 2 mobs and kill a 3rd now?
bart Nov 14th 2007 1:30PM
the purported druid ability to shift from moonkin -> moonkin directly, without going through another form, was not added...i was unable to shift from moonkin -> moonkin directly when i tried it
justlikehoneybaby Nov 14th 2007 1:31PM
It's just boss loot in low level instances upgraded to blue.
