Breakfast Topic: 100 useful warrior tips
There is much on the forums these days to be avoided, but luckily Grimdan's thread doesn't fall into this category. He created a topic on the European forums asking for suggestions for the 100 most useful tips for warriors. It's difficult to come up with a list of 100 on your own, but I'm sure you can think of a few.If you were a new warrior just starting out, what words of wisdom would benefit you most? Or perhaps there are warriors out there just getting into PvP, or new to raiding, or trying a new spec. You don't have to be brand new to the class to benefit from some good advice. By the same token, you don't necessarily have to be an uber leet warrior sporting Tier 6 to hand out advice to your fellow players. What one tip would you give to warriors?

Sunder freaking armor. All the time. Do not hamstring, do not heroic strike (unless its a super-hard-hitting-boss).
How many times do I see a tank in a 5man with my alts hamstringing and tickling the mob with a sword...SUNDER ARMORRRORRR

Why Sunder Armor when you have Devastate :P
Thepitt Nov 20th 2007 8:51AM
@1 Agreed.
I'm a warrior main and it drives me nuts to run my alts in a group with a dipstick warrior that doesn't sunder (or devastate now, thanks to the WoW gods for that change!)
The only thing that would be more affective than sunder armor would be if the gave us a "screw the mob's wife" talent.

Don't forget to bring a shield.

Mace Stun. It changed my life, my build, my game...

Don't forget to bring a rogue.

To 5 & 3....If someone has devastate on their action bar, chances are they have SOME idea how to tank :) It takes some sort of dedication to level prot, or be prot.
My problem is the only people on fansites like wowinsder and the forums probably knew this already. It's the people that just log on to the game, and don't read about the game mechanics who are hamstring spamming mobs they should be tanking,

Reply: Hamstring is likely because they do some sort of button mash like:
/castrandom all, their, spells, here

I hear you on the devistate issue, the problem is that most of the warriors that need starting advise, needs that advise when they're starting (not at level 50 when you can spec for devistate).
Oh, and saying that if somebody has spec'd for devistate, he has an idea of tanking, obviously hasn't encountered the 0/0/61 prot build yet ... these people have devistate and CLEARLY have no clue.
As for my advise to warriors - the flask is better than the helm (This from a warrior who took the helm and replaced it almost immediately) ;-)

Just because you can charge doesn't mean you can charge into the middle of a pack of 6 murlocs and come out unscathed.

You are only as effective as your gear. Keep it updated.

Read my column!
Not that it's all that great, but I mean, I can't afford to throw warrior advice around willy nilly, I gotta keep writing those things.

If your are in a 5 man and someone steals aggro from you let them die, then the aggro will come back, you dont have to chase the damn mage down..

1./ Learn to tank in Deadmines. But don't spec for tanking until you get past Moroes and raid full time. You are potentially a great raid boss tank. You are a third-rate trash pull tank, regardless of your spec.
2./ Be sure to step away from the mob after you hit Intimidating Shout.
3./ Piercing Howl is worth taking a point out of Commanding Presence for.
4./ First Aid and Cooking are worth the effort.
5./ Choose Strength.

When doing an Elite quest you can still tank better than the mage, so put on a shield and go in Defensive stance, even if you are Fury/Arms.

I see a lot of new warriors making mistakes that are easy to overcome. So, practice tanking, wear a shield, bloodrage, stack sunders, shield block (yes, wow this really exists and you should have it on your action bar!), revenge when it procs, stack more sunders. Oh, and don't taunt when you already have aggro, it's a complete waste - not sure why people do this.

1. If you are about level 60 or above, please don't enter the instance you are going to tank and ask if anyone can cure rez sickness.
2. When they say no, no one can cure rez sickness, don't point out that there's a mage in the group.
Thank you!!!

Even if you ain't using shield, you still got plate on you. Even if you ain't the maintank you still got taunt on you.
USE YOUR FREAKING TAUNT.
You might not be the tank, but you are the best option when that priest/mage needs saving from too much of agro. You still wear plate, you still got the taunt move, pull the mob away from them even if you imidiatly after that return to your "current duties".

I think we all learn how to survive PvP or solo on our own very early... but the 5man requires practice
1. Learn to use your threat generating abilities (sunder/devestate,revenge,sh.slam,etc.)
2. Learn how to distribute your threat
3. Learn how to regain your threat (taunt)
4. Educate your group mates on threat and how to not steal your threat
5. Pass what you know along to your younger warriors (even you were a noob once)
