Around Azeroth: Leveling up all over again
Reader Endreign writes saying he's recently re-rolled a Horde character and is enjoying the sights on the "other side" of the game. And with the changes to the leveling curve that arrived with patch 2.3, there's never been a better time to start working on that alt.

Maaan, that just reminds me of how much I miss the second moon.

I'll be soon getting out of Azeroth, as I'm currently L53, and it just seems like there are so many places I haven't been yet.
Maybe these are all horde places and people don't talk about them much because on a pvp server you will just get killed every 5 mins, I donno...
But it makes me wanna roll a new char sometime soon, maybe get 100% rest when I hit outlands, and level up a new char.....that should help boost me, plus I should have a mid 20s toon to play when I wanna rest from my main to gain 100% rest in the later 60s. No race with people I know, gives me time to explore areas I have never been....

Alliance 70s on two servers, and yet I'm having the most fun on my third server leveling up a set of Hordies (all currently 15 to 35). Between them they cover almost all professions and all armor types (so little goes to waste, and I don't have to hit the AH much). New sights, new quests, new recipes, new guild and player names to chuckle over. No pressure, no drama, no waiting around for hours, no epic repair bills.
I don't miss raiding at all.

I like the leveling. For the past week I've been having an itch to reroll an alliance. But with raiding on the main and crawling those last few levels on what will soon be the server's premiere main tank, I have little time to get sucked into some dwarf.

My main is a level 70 Troll Priest, and I just recently started an alt (about 2 weeks before the patch hit).
I started with a Tauren Druid with the notion that I would probably level up and spec resto and maybe go ToL. Then I got to thinking, that I've never really played a Damage class. My other mains were either healers or the tank, and although the versatility of a druid is cool, I decided to go with a Hunter.
I am having so much fun being a Hunter now! I rolled a Female Blood Elf (knowing that they were the worst possible race for a hunter), but did it anyway because the new areas were interesting and a lot of fun. The change of scenery and all new quests has been a welcome change and I haven't been this excited to play in a while. I had a group go into WC the other day and sitting back and not having to heal and stare at the health bars was a big change. Granted I love to heal, but just dealing out damage is a lot of fun. That coupled with the all new setting of the blood elf areas has made for a welcome change and lots of fun. Not to mention leveling is much much faster after the patch.

Fyi, to anyone rerolling Horde, you don't have to roll a BE to level up in their starting area. You just have to level any Horde race to 5 in its own starting area, then run it over to Farstrider Square and start the quests there. (Actually, the first quest you can do as a non-BE is "Slain by the Wretched", given by Outrunner Alarion at the far end of Dawning Lane from Farstrider Square).
I've leveled one Horde of each class to the low 20s doing it that way, the BE 5-20 area is much faster questing and leveling than the other Horde areas - more compact, quests more densely packed, so less running around and more xp/hr. The blue rewards at the end of Ghostlands are nice too.

Yeah, as of the patch, having both a Level 70 Hunter and Priest. I've taken up a little Draenei Warrior. I've had him forever, but he was stuck in level 7 forever. Now he's treading along, level 25. Getting murdered by zombies in Duskwood. From playing pretty much Caster-esque and healers, and from having really no taste of the melee, it's much different, and I'm finding myself running back to my corpse more than I do fighting. Though, I have taken the advice of this site, as well as a hundred great tips for me, and I am caring and feeding my little warrior. And he just a quest away from hitting 26 and moving onto the next death-trail to level 27.
