The first Chinese Character, Ming, means command, desteny, or life in a spiritual rather than physical sense. I assume the ambiguity was intentional. The charm was labeled Ming Bao, or Treasure of Life.
The second, Kao, means test or a life trial.
The last Sheng, means life in a more physical sense than Ming.
