To WoW, perchance to dream
Last night I dreamt of Mudsprocket. I was questing with one of my alts -- I assume my shadow priest, but I can't be certain because I was seeing the perspective from her eyes -- and I came across a new NPC standing next to the flight master. She was a female orc named Robin Torres, and I realized she was named after our Robin of WoW Insider fame.
The dream switches to me having a discussion at a party with a friend of mine. Over drinks I mention what I found in the game and she doesn't seem the least bit surprised. "Well, Azeroth Interrupted was incredibly popular" she tells me.
Now this isn't the first time I've dreamt about the game. I do so pretty much all the time. Since I play so much my unconscious mind feeds on what is on my mind at the time. What intrigued me looking back on it was my creation of my own NPC to place into the game. So I wondered what other NPCs players might like to see referenced in WoW. I know the game is riddled with references, from Caretaker Ophera Windfury to Eyonix himself. I'm interested to see what the readers would select for new NPCs to add to the game. Who would you like to meet lounging at the bar in a tavern in Howling Fjord or standing guard at the Sunwell?

Put a pandaren named Czukh N'orrish in the barrens!

I second that! That would SO rock.

I had a dream that I went down to Wal-mart and bough a stick-on hook to hang my headphones on te back of my monitor... something I've been meaning to do for some time now.
The completely normal, everyday-life, nothing weird happens dreams are the really creepy ones...

Since this is sure to bring out the "This one time, I dreamed..." replies, I'll add my recent one.
I healed BM twice and I think there was some other instances that went on all in one night. First BM was with a pally tank but the second was with a warrior so it was more hectic. ...and that's what I dreamed (or could say had a nightmare of) all night in a half asleep sort of way. Can't wake up or we'll wipe!

my cat was meowing loudly one morning wanting fed and I remember trying to hit her with a spell to shut her up. My wife said i kept acting like I was throwing something at the cat.

Slik Willie; hanging out in a tavern somewhere surounded by females and playin' some kind of sax-like instrument.

So weird that WoW and dreams would come up. Saturday night I had my first WoW dream. I was being chased by bad people (not quite a nightmare but enough to make me run for my life). The strangest part, I was a Night Elf and not one of my characters. So it was me as a Night Elf running through WoW landscape/areas by real life looking people. That was pretty much the extent of it. I of course woke up before getting caught.

Amanda, did Robin put you up to this?
Amanda Rivera Nov 26th 2007 6:27PM
Juliah,
If she did, then Robin has greater powers over the minds of others than anyone could imagine. I for one am deeply humbled, and slightly weirded out at the thought of it. Get out of my brain Robin! Get out of my brain!

I have to say, I was a bit freaked out to scroll down and find my name in big green letters. What I want to know is, what was my purpose? Was I a quest-giver? Or a vendor of odd cooking recipes? I think I wouldn't mind anything but one of those useless, overpriced bag vendors.

I want to see the NPC Gargo put in Shattrath or in the Hellfire inn next to the cook, if you are unfamiliar with steaming hot milk, go search for it on the suggestion forums at worldofwarcraft.com and tell me you dont agree.

After seeing the commercial, and hearing how well his voice fits the race, I'd love to see a Tauren shaman NPC voiced by William Shatner.

I want the mayor of one of the Northrend towns to be called King of Town. Or K'Ot, maybe. And one of those flying brooms in the BE starting zones could have its name changed to Martsee or Mar'Zhippin, or something like that.
Tamahin Nov 27th 2007 12:00PM
Oh, Homestar... I do like it.
On topic... I had a dream that I was in Burning Steppes on my druid and I accidentally clicked flight form and, to my surprise, I could fly in Azeroth. I didn't do much, just flew over some mountains.

I've had way too many WoW dreams. And I don't even play that much.
Usually they're about something I was focused on when I played (getting a certain piece of armor to drop, a quest that took me a while, an instance, etc.) But othertimes they'll be really random.
Sad :(

I think it'd be funny to see a Family Guy reference made using a tubby dwarf in BB up on the flight decks going by the name of ... P'tir the Griffin master

Well, I'd like a quest where you help out a dark-haired draenei named Susan gather parts so her crotchety white-haired grandfather can repair their, uh, transportation. Once you've completed the quest they disappear. Later you encounter a young brown-haired draenei (with a blonde blood elf with those giant hoop earrings, named Rose) who will claim to be Susan's grandfather and give you your reward.
Or maybe a gnome dressed all in purple, including his wide-brimmed hat and cape, named D.W. Keengear, trying to prevent his red-pigtailed daughter Q.Q. Keengear from following along on his adventures. Bwahaha.
Don't worry, no one else ever knows what I'm talking about either.

Everyone has missed the most obvious outside world reference.
Stan Kyle Kenny Cartman and Butters as their WoW characters with a quest to find a sword.
