Thundgot, one of Blizzard's European CMs, is
reporting that due to the one-two punch of
patch 2.3 and
Arena Season 3, more people than usual are logging on, resulting in queues on many realms that don't usually have them. So season two is over, and season queue begins (sorry, couldn't resist). I don't know if the North American realms are also supposed to be having queues; none of my regular ones have been, but I tend to play at off-peak times, so perhaps I wouldn't have seen them anyway. Who's been seeing queues, where are you, and how bad have they been?
Blizzard says they're holding off on doing anything about the queues, be it free transfers or new realms, but they promise that they're "closely monitoring" things, and if this proves to be more than a transient thing, measures will be taken, as usual. I remember back in the pre-BC days, when most realms had queues most of the time...that was no fun. But it seems that Blizz have learned from that, since I haven't ever faced anything that bad since BC launched.

I've been playing on Illidan and had a few 400-500th person in que, I have heard a few guildies saying that they have been in the 900s!

I've tried connecting to Illidan at around 10pm and been in the 900+ range. It sucks a whole lot cuz that just means I have to level my (formerly) deserted BE Pally

While all realms were down yesterday Ner'zhul was up and at a Que around the 2000-4400 range...insane! Just thought I would mess around on that realm till Destro was up but thought otherwise lol

Warsong has a 40 minute queue from about 3pm onward.

Tichondrius (US) has had a 20 min queue for the last 3 weeks starting around 4PM PST.
It's really starting to get annoying. I'd like a better explanation other than 2.3 being the reason, since I don't understand why a patch with only a 10-man raid instance in it would cause that significant of a jump.
I'm betting it's transfers that have gone a bit out of control and Blizzard sure doesn't want to stop THAT cash cow. They also don't want to open a new transfer-only realm, because they'd have to have free transfers to it and that's hundreds if not thousands of dollars they can make from the grumpy people right now who would rather be elsewhere.
It's all $$ to Blizzard, so we just get to live with it. And miss raids.

I have played WoW (Europe) for two years now...always on pretty full realms, and I have never ever seen this screen. I knew there was something like that when the server was full, but it never got that far.

I play on Illidan, and so far I've been in queue's from the 700s to the 900s. Thankfully, it hasn't gone over 1000 yet. It's really starting to bug me; Blizzard needs to do something about it. We pay to play, meaning they're wasting our money while we have to wait a few hours just to log on.

I play (mostly) on Alexstraaza. When I first started playing a year ago, there was always a wait. After about a month, the wait went away. I really thought it was Blizz "rewarding" me for playing beyond a month, by bumping me to the front of the line.
When I logged in on Wednesday, I was hit for a wait for the first time in nearly a year.

Kel'Thuzad has been having queues lately, thought usually under 500.
Tuberon Nov 30th 2007 1:27AM
I also play on Illidan, and have seen those same queues during peak times. Off-peak is no problem, however.
