My wife likes to tame wolves in swamps
One of the more interesting facets to having a wife who plays World of Warcraft (heck, she started playing in the old Beta, way before I did) is that you find yourself taking your newly 70 Draenei Shaman into Dustwallow Marsh to spend several hours popping Heroism so that she can tame a Grimtotem Spirit Guide before it dies in seven seconds. You can see how other folks did it here and we posted a how-to here, but I never expected I'd be doing it.It's not the first time that I've found myself doing something like this. I helped sneak into Zul'Gurub to tame windserpents, I've taken my orc warrior to Winterspring to get her Sian-Rotam (and I noticed while we were there this time to get her Juju Flurry for the tame attempt that the Ursius quest is open to Alliance now) and once or twice I may have accidentally killed Lupos before she could tame him.
This particular tame took two nights to pull off: the first night, we found ourselves coming to within a second of the tame but unable to do it because of the random proc of her Mystical Skyfire Diamond, so we were forced to come back today after enlisting the aid of a helpful level 37 priest to use mind control to summon the pet exactly as the diamond procced. Two attempts this time got it done, that priest left 30g richer, I shook my head at the foolishness of hunters, I got smacked in the back of the head and we took the new pet to Auchenai Crypt where he ended up 4 levels higher than he was when she got him.
Of course, it's not all me standing around in a swamp casting Heroism. As much as I like to kid my wife about her hunter obsessions, I have to admit it's nice having a guaranteed partner for questing and our new 2x2 Arena team. All in all it makes the game much more positive for me, even when I'm cursing my head off about healing a bad pull in Underbog to get her more Sanguine Hibiscus, knowing that after she gets her Spore Bat pet she'll be helping me grind up my latest flying mount.
Have any of you ended up in a weird place helping someone close personally do something the slightest bit daft? Or are you usually the one leading the expedition to Zul'Aman to try and tame a bear?

Dunno if this has been mentioned yet but a CM from the European forums mentions that there are no plans to nerf the taming of the Grimtotem wolf! So for now hunters can enjoy this new pet.

Oh nice this is good news. I saw someone with a lvl60 ghost wolf and was wondering if that person had wasted their time, but currently I see that they haven't. I might think about leveling mine.

My husband thinks I'm nuts because I'm always asking him to help me tame some odd rare thing. So I'm sure he'd sympathize with you.

I'd like one of these for my hunter, but it just seems like too much work. :P

When my hunter hits 70, this is the first thing I'll go for.
It's currently 27, been playing on it for some time since the patch hit. :)

*sigh* My boyfriend was more than willing to help me with this fellow... unfortunately, his main is a warlock, and his shaman's only level 26 at the moment. No sexy ghost wolf for me.
...For now.

Actually just yesterday I was helping my fiance tame a Deviate Coil Hatchling with her level 11 Hunter, in the entrance Wailing Caverns. I (i was a 13 Shaman) And I kept pulling aggro from heals. We nearly killed the thing before she was able to tame it. But now we have a nice lightning breathing ally to help us kill raptors!

Well, I've made my husband take his level 10 NE druid and accompany my level 10 NE hunter all the way down to Mulgore to tame the rake on a pvp server. (This is back when his attack speed made it worth the trip).
