Remember your gems

Once again, it's the first of the month, and that means it's your gem payday from the Consortium! Get your butt out to Aeris Landing and click on Gezhe for your Membership Benefits, which means a package of free gems to help you pimp your new season 3 gear or Zul'Aman epics. Depending on your Consortium reputation level, you get one of the following:

I meant to get my rogue up at least to Revered since last month, but alas, real life stepped in, so it's another Unmarked Bag for me. What's your haul for December?

Where do I start gaining Consortium rep? I want free gems.

The very first Consortium quest is "The Consortium Needs You!" ( http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=9913 ) and you can get it at level 64 if you're neutral with The Consortium. You get the quest from the Consortium Recruiter right outside of the two faction cities in Nagrand. I'm not sure, but I think that if you've done even one other quest for them, this quest isn't available.

There are multiple quest hubs in Netherstorm (one with a flight path) for Consortium and running Mana-Tombs gives rep, but the best place to start is in Nagrand where the gem bag distributor is. Consortium has an outpost in SWish Nag, on the road that runs E/W to the Alliance fp on the east end. There you will get two collection quests that are good to friendly. Won't take any time at all to hit that rep.

After friendly, on the first of every month a gem bag is available. Quality of the contents varies with rep but at exalted can easily be three blue quality and a bunch of greens. The bag can be taken any time before the next month's, so you could grind from neutral to exalted and go straight to the big haul on your first bag, if you've plenty of free time.

At higher rep (and level) there are repeatable tasks in Nethstorm & Blade's Edge which involve killing mobs which often drop randomized blues similar to rare mob drops.

Flame Spessarite, Azure Moonstone, and a Noble Topaz, if I remember correctly. I was honored.

I love going there the first of the month and seeing all the people coming by to pick up their gems =) It'd probably be a nice place to hawk cuts...hmmmm...I think I might try that next month...

They've been pretty stingy with me recently, although I shouldn't really complain if I got a star of elune and a living ruby (widely considered to be the most valuable gems) this month.

I am exalted, and it wasn't too hard to do - I just prot grinded (AoE Paladin) the ethereals in netherstorm for their insignias.

I have 3 toons exalted with consortium. Across all 3 toons, i got a total of 8 blue gems. Last month i got 7 blues.

I got TWO Star of Elune in my Bulging Sack of Gems. All I need is a Primal Nether, and those Destruction Holo-Gogs are MINE.
