Around Azeroth: Gazing down on Thunder Bluff
We've all seen shots of Thunder Bluff, the Tauren capital high above the plains of Mulgore. However, this shot from reader Octambrose of Stormscale shows us Thunder Bluff from a new perspective. He explains his technique:
I took this shot of the Spirit Rise using the Shaman's far sight spell, which, despite being generally useless, is actually a boon to in-game photographers as you can view locations from interesting perspectives.

Actually, I have a friend that uses this with me in AV to great benefit.
We race down the BG and grab Snowfall Graveyard. There's usually about 4 of us, which discourages any horde from committing suicide trying to gank it.
Then the Shammy uses farsight and peers over to what's going on at Stonehearth bunker. She can see exactly who's still in there, and who's left. Sometimes everyone leaves. Sometimes just a few are left.
Then we know exactly who's going to die when we take our 4 man death squad over there, re-capture the bunker, and feel good about ourselves.
There you have it. A practical use for farsight in-game (in pvp no less!)

I have a 70 orc shammy and I found far sight to be very useful. When going for a quest mob, I could often FS the area and find the path of least resistance to get to the dude, saving much time. Also found it pretty useful just to get the lay of the land when entering unfamilliar territory. You can chain FSs endlessly, so you can cover vast distances without even leaving a safe area. I've even used it to watch other parties take out elite mobs just to see how the fared, when I could not set foot near the area. Even usefull in world PvP to scope graveyards and stuff.
