Boy attacked by moose "feigns death," thanks WoW
A Norwegian news site is reporting that a young boy and his sister were attacked by a moose (same thing happened to my sister once), and the boy reportedly "taunted' the moose away from his sister, and then feigned death, causing the moose to lose aggro and leave. "Just like you learn in level 30 in World of Warcraft," the boy is reportedly quoted as saying.Cynic that I am, I find it hard believing any of this is true at all-- maybe one of our Norwegian readers (and I know we have them, because I met two at BlizzCon) can let us know whether "Nettavisen" is to be trusted as a source or not. But even if it is true, I'm just as hesitant to jump to praise WoW for supposedly helping as I am to condemn it for supposedly hurting.
Still, I'm glad the kid came out of it OK, and if WoW is to thank, all the better. Now if only he'd been able to control his DPS in the first place, he'd never have aggroed at all.

It's trustworthy. The news have been in almost every large newspaper in norway... so there you go. I'm from Norway btw.

I bet the boy learned it from an Ascent or Mangos server with NCDB DB Rev 600+.... that is the only way he would have known a moose would fall for fd

Haha, the story is true, happened in my home town. Apparantly he faked dead and the elk glared at him and decided to run off. Funniest thing that's ever happened there. :P

Actually nettavisen is a paper to be trusted.. And since I have been to cloose to a moose myself they do attack if you come to close, and they do leave if you play dead. Ore most of them do..

n00b, only Lazerhawk tanks... you don't pull aggro without Lazer

duhhh his sister could have been classified as a pet on agresive. As a good hunter you cant let your pet die...to much that is. BTW hunters have distraction shot (taunt right there NOOBS)

Dumb kid. He should have sent in his pet sister to get some aggro and then shoot from a safe distance.
The article does not list his professions, but afterwards he could have skinned the moose for some medium leather.

They have proven that WoW allows people to build on the tteam building and management skills for the real world. you are required towork together with a team for a common goal. You each have your roles and responsibilities so you can definatly learn RL lessons from warcraft... I love the comments btw lmao funny as

WTF?! He just left the moose there?? What about the +agi and +stam food he could of gotten off of it if he just took the meat to the campfire with some hot spices....
aniva Jan 17th 2008 10:56AM
Um,... moose are native to north america only. None in Norway.

What the story doesnt tell u is that the kids sister was a Tauren, and the moose wasnt trying to "attack" her, he was just trying to get a lil love. Once the kid taunted it to him, the moose saw the kid roll over with his ass sticking up and said, "dude, i dont go that way". The whole thought of another male wanting him to give him some action made him sick, which was the reason why it left in the first place.
IMO, let it get some love next time. Moose's need action too!
