Free transfers live from a few realms

As reported on the WoW LJ community, selected realms are getting free transfers to lower population realms. I will admit to being a tad disappointed that the realm where most of my alliance characters languish isn't one of those realms. But for the inhabitants of a super-crowded realm this can only be good news, and I congratulate you all for getting a chance to move while the offer is open. The complete list of realms who will be getting these transfers and the destination realms will be presented after the jump in case you can't access the links for one reason or another. If you are on one of the realms being offered the move, you have from Thursday, December 6th to Thursday the 13th to get your bags packed and make the trip to your new homes.

Oceanic desperately needs more realms, at peak time which is around six o'clock new zealand time barthilas starts getting a queue, and it builds from there till 6 or 7/8 realms have a queue and whatever realms don't have a queue are on "full" or "high". Please blizzard! Just 2 more realms and a week or so of free transfers would fix this problem. At least until WotLK hits.

Yeah, I noticed there was no RP serverson oceanic. It's not my cup o' tea, but there definately should be one.

I know! It's so annoying. Please Blizzard! One or two more realms at least.
And yes, I know that Blizzard wouldn't visit this site, but there's hope.

Thank goodness! I was getting sick of log in waits in Tichondrius. I can help but wonder what caused the population of that server in particular to balloon so quickly, especially compared to the other servers.

Hear hear Elf_Skinner - Barthilas has terrifying queues at the moment, it's making playing WoW a real chore. We're in dire need of another Oceanic server, or a mystic ninja server upgrade for Barthilas to make the queues go away.

Dath' Remar often has long queues of a night time... perhaps Blizzard could open a new server and open it to Barthilas and Dath

I know it's off topic, but Matt, you're one of my favorite writers on this site. Wanting to know more I typed your name into Google and stumbled across a book called "Things That Never Were" - written by Matthew Rossi! Did you write this or is it just a coincidence? The book looks neat.

That is indeed my book. I also wrote a story in vol. 1 of Monkeybrain Books' "Adventure" anthology and some essays in Postscripts magazine, if you like the style of work in that book. Assuming you get it, which I shouldn't, that's egocentric of me. Then again, I AM massively egocentric.

Tichondrius is the #1 server for high level pvp and arena, anyone who wants to be taken seriously in Arena pvp goes there, thats why its population is so high.

that's a pretty baseless comment and has been for quite some time.
If you're that stupid that you pick a single server out of a whole battlegroup for those things, then I don't think you're one of those elite PVP'ers in the first place.
There's no world PVP either, that's long since been dead since the Arena came around. Any other server in the battlegroup would put you up against the same competition. Only a moron would transfer to a nearly full server (and thus create the stupid queue problem) JUST to PVP with the people on Tich.
I'm hoping enough people transfer tomorrow to just stop the queues. It's bad enough that the raid scene is pretty terrible for a full server, but it's even worse when I can't even get on the server in general. If it's still queued, I think I'm going to have to transfer just to not have to wait 20+ mins to log in every night, thus ruining my chances of raiding at all, ever.

I like that they are sending people to a server that just had 4 or 5 guilds transfer off of in the past couple weeks.

Yes! More people will come to Nazjatar an complain about being very low pop anyway. Then they will leave and the cycle will repeat.*
