WoW Moviewatch: HMS Theramore
If you're a fan of World of Warcraft machinima, chances are you're waiting for the next episode in Myndflame's Illegal Danish series, Escape from Orgrimmar (and if you aren't familiar with Illegal Danish, there's no time like the present to catch up by watching the original episode, Illegal Danish: Super Snacks). And while Escape from Orgrimmar isn't ready quite yet, Myndflame is placating us with this clip from the finished product, which also works as a stand-alone parody of the musical HMS Pinafore. (And for better-than-YouTube quality, check the DivX version.)

Gilbert and Sullivan just tuned in their graves.

I'm very much under the impression that the videos they release, the 'samples' of Escape from Orgrimmar, may very well be miniature trailers in themselves.
The pushed release date, the broken promises and forum community over at Myndflame eating them alive for "wasted-donations", "before Armageddon" may be an accurate depiction.

Coming before Armageddon....wouldn't bet money on that...

IDEFO and Myndflame seem to be becoming more and more irrelevant by the minute, with superior artists having long since taken their place on the top-tier of machinima-making. This trailer serves only to confirm my suspicions.
Like Duke Nukem Forever, it would have to be close to godlike in quality to justify the wait.

QQ less you losers. The machinima they produce will be based on its individual quality and that alone. Myndflame don't "owe" you anything, they don't have a responibilty to produce something they don't feel is creatively ready yet. This isn't a film or a game release this is machinima ffs, so just watch it when it comes out and don't cry about it!

@5 For the most part, what you are saying is true. But as with most rules, there lies an exception. That being the people who donated money to help them get the next film out. Alot of them donated with the expectation of being able to see the next one at some point before age steals their sight, making it too late. As soon as money becomes involved and you are essentailly being 'paid' (even in the case of donations), that's when obligation begins to come in. Although for most of us who didn't donate, myself included, they don't owe us jack.
Although I respect everyone's right to like it, I never much enjoyed Illegal Danish. I think the writing is more important than the quality in most cases. While both are essential to a machinima film being dubbed 'great', I gotta say writing comes first. That's why for me, new Baron Soosdon films don't really flare up on my radar. I give a solid 5 stars for his visuals, but beyond that, his films just seem empty to me. I think he should get in touch with someone else to write for him, or at least co-write. I did enjoy the 300 spoof in the beginning of Cure for a Hangover though.
My personal favorites? The Grind, Brothers Tauren, Snacky's Journal, and alas Dude Where's My Mount. Granted I dont get to watch as much as I would like and on occasion I come across something I really enjoy. Limited time to sneak in a movie or two at work and would rather be actually playing at home.
Later.

So what was the excuse for the hold up anyway? Did they just get obseesed with leving a Blood Elf pally to 70 they couldn't bother putting the movie out when it was due? At any rate I bet the next film is probably an hour long.
