There's that old saying, "Real life comes first!' Please. whom are we kidding here? We're all addicts waiting for Blizzard to patch down our next fix or release new product that will keep us up late, make us miss work, ask our spouses if it's
really necessary we're at our own weddings.
This Breakfast Topic asks a simple question: What pile of complete
bull... er, baloney have you spin just to play
WoW? Called in sick? Told your spouse you were "working late" to play on the office LAN? Vacation time--You mean that's to go someplace? Isn't going to Nagrand "going someplace?" You said I needed to work more on my goals. Isn't getting keyed for Kara a "goal?" 'Really, Mr. Lumbergh, all of us running this instance is 'team building.' We'll even come in Saturday and Sunday to 'team build'" Bonus points if you really torqued off your significant other and you're still together.

sacrificed dinner
and parrent relations:P
they can't accept that i rather raid then having family dinner where only dad is allowed to talk
JPN Dec 10th 2007 8:10AM
I'm sorry, I couldn't resist...
Only Dad is allowed to speak at dinner? Does he speak TO people or just give a monologue? Can you respond with any sort of gestures? Do you reach for food or ask it to be passed? When can the speaking commence? Is it like sitting in the audience of a talk show? What happens if you DO talk?
Ryuichi Dec 10th 2007 9:43AM
Yah, I just did that last night. o-o
I hear you on the whole Dad situation. The difference is that we aren't allowed to talk TO him... We can say a few things, but then he gets pissed off because we are disrupting his meal...

JPN brings up a good point. Perhaps this guy's (internet assumption) father is an actor. Perhaps he recites Shakespeare for their enjoyment. Or perhaps he is a good stand-up comic, keeping his family laughing so hard they can't eat.
Or perhaps I just took this to far.
Naix Dec 10th 2007 10:51AM
Geez. Sounds like your Dad needs to play some WOW with you to relieve some stress. Nothing relaxes me more than ganking some Alliance noobs!
evestraw Dec 10th 2007 11:49AM
my dad just talks to my mom and i cant talk to my brother because i am "interrupting" their conversation.
he just says boring stuff what he did on work.

Sounds like you need to stage a coup and wrest power from the evil dictator.
Or just sit there and be quiet lest his armies pummel you into the salad bowl.

Back when I played WoW the first time I'm sure there was time I didn't spend with family I could have because of the game.
And there were definitely times I didn't study when I should have.
Of course last night our priest thought it was more important to fold her laundry than prevent a wipe during a pickup group into the Stockades.

i called in sick for 3 days straight when BC came out. Besides that nothing. I don't have a spouse or girlfriend so i dont have to worry about that. Much easier to play when your alone. :)
Eleris Dec 10th 2007 8:20AM
Called in sick numerous times if i needed time for grinding rep / mats...
When reaching 58 and going to OL i had "fever and headaches" for 2 days.
JPN Dec 10th 2007 8:21AM
No, but once we had a 2 hour delay at school, and I heard it on my way there....so I turned around, logged on for an hour and a half, then went back to school :D
Uh, I also happen to WORK at the school, lol....
Andrethir Dec 10th 2007 8:47AM
Well, not so much a sacrifice, but I played on my wedding day before my (morning) wedding.
Guildmates: "Aren't you getting married today?"
Me: "Yeah... I'm in my tux, and the limo won't be here for another half hour."
:P

Wow I thought that I was the only one to do that! It's not like showering and putting on a Tux take that long, what else ya gonna do? :-)
Hokuto Dec 10th 2007 10:56AM
Epic win.

That will be me, except in a big white dress instead of a tux. "Let me just finish this daily!"

Sleep, MANY MANY hours of sleep!!
Arras Dec 10th 2007 9:19AM
Like most others, I've really just given up massive amounts of sleep for WoW. There have been several times when friends have wanted to do something and I was secretly overjoyed when the plans fell through so I could raid, grind, farm, whatever.
I try not to break already made plans to play WoW or skip work (since work=steady income=more WoW time).
