But what's now with the occupied german realm? Russians have gathered at the german WARSONG server. Will they stay?

Get used to Cyrillic Screenshots? You US players have it so good, you talk about stuff like this as if it is an alien and bizarre concept. Let me tell you that for many of us in Europe, our EU servers are full of people writing in Cyrillic! Many nights a week I do not see anything in the Latin alphabet! This is something we've dealt with from the start. While on the one hand it's great that regions are getting their own dedicated servers, I can't help but reflect on the naivety of players to whom this is a new thing. It's ridiculous that you think of it so.

Well, I was referring more to the UI showing up in Cyrillic, not the chat text. And as for the rest of it, I just have to plead ignorance, not having ever played on the EU servers. :\

At last, a compelling reason and venue to maintain my Russain language skills..
Iskayu za Guild. Skazhi mne.
Now how the Deuce do I get a hold of a Russian cd key?
toots Dec 11th 2007 2:51AM
quite sure its Warsong UK as there is no german realm with that name
Rene Dec 11th 2007 6:19AM
There's also no Warsong UK, as all the European realms are named EU ("Warsong EU").
But it's true - there is no German "Warsong" server, since all the German server names are in German (the equivalent would be "Kriegshymne", or as in "Warsong Gulch": "Kriegshymnenschlucht").

I wonder. WoW can be played in Russia on their servers since years. I was in internet cafes in Moscow and Kiew and they had WoW there to play, on their "own" servers for free.
Why should they pay now?
Irian Dec 11th 2007 4:33AM
Oh come on. You mean, private servers? They suck and everyone knows it. We have polish private servers here, too, and somehow most people who can afford it play on officials. No matter how good might a private want to be, it's never gonna have all the tech and GM support of an official. And I don't even want to start on 'epics for GM friends', high rates, bugs and crushes.
Rene Dec 11th 2007 6:22AM
The WoW played in Russia is very likely the European version, which means they play on English EU servers.
However, I play on English language EU servers, and met several people from Poland and other eastern European states, but never someone from Russia (I'm sure they exist there somewhere though).

Oh FINALLY they can stop dominating the stupid warsong server! I don't mind them using russian in warsong and basically claiming warsong as an unofficial russian server, but when they bring it to the BGs it gets frustratingly stupid. They don't understand what we want and we won't understand what they want, and we end up losing the damn BG.
