Tales from the Lion's Pride Inn: The story begins

First off, I'd like to thank everyone for their supportive comments of last week's premiere. I hope that this series will live up to everyone's high expectations! I'll certainly do my best to try.
This week's page is the start of the first official tale in the series, and opens with a view that is hopefully familiar but different than you remember. Considering where I want this story to go, it was necessary to expand the location a bit, but I think you'll enjoy the change. As usual, click the gallery below to check out the new page, or start from the beginning to refresh your memory!

I love closing lines like this: "At least I still have this old warehouse to myself." Haha. You just *know* that's going to change the second she shines a light in there.

I have to wait another week. Ahhhh. It's like the end of every Heroes episode. It ends and your left wanting more. Do I have an addition here? Nah, I can quit any time I want.

That should be addiction. Maybe I do, I can't even think straight or spell correctly.

I like that depiction of Menethil better than the one in-game. It looks more like a suitable port city. How'd you make it?

Looks like it's from the Warcraft RTS to me, but I can't find any footage or images to confirm it.

The images are very well-done. I look forward to seeing the rest of the series.

The only piece of WoW-inspired fan entertainment I've ever bothered with is the FLintlocke comic at Gamespy and the occasional piece of machinima. To your credit though, I love what you've accomplished and totally want to see more. A very fine piece of work all around.

You won't find that shot of Menethil anywhere else -- it only exists here (and in my head, I guess).
It was made almost entirely in Photoshop, from an existing screenshot I had. I then got rid of all the existing buildings (but kept the walls), and composited in everything using shots of the buildings from the Model Viewer. It took awhile, but I'm reasonably happy with the end result.
And yeah, it looks more like a suitable port city to me too! :)
