WoW Insider Show Episode 15: Grab your sword and fight the Horde

Matthew Rossi, Turpster, and I had a heck of a great time on last Saturday's episode of the WoW Insider Show, available right now for you listening pleasure over on WoW Radio and on iTunes. And we came up with two great slogans for the Alliance:The one I liked was "Grab your sword and fight the Horde," while Turpster's, if I recall correctly, was "Please put down that fishing appliance, we are Warcraft's fighting Alliance!" Okay, I may not be recalling that exactly correctly.- But I know for sure that we chatted about the brand new collision of Activision and Blizzard.
- We also talked about our most popular story last week.
- We clarified a few pieces of mine, including the big analysis of the WoW laptop, and why everyone got so angry at my post about summoning stones.
- And we also had some great PvP discussion, both about how to lose at Alterac Valley, and how to beat a Warlock.
And if you didn't get to listen to us live but want to next week, make a note for Saturday afternoon at 3:30 pm EST-- that's when we go live over on the WoW Radio (now 24/7!) site. The WoW Insider Show is always a fun time, and even if you read the blog during the week, it's always great to get a little insight and background on how things work around here.

PS, another great show guys. I listen to a number of wow podcasts and yours is quickly becoming my favorite. Keep up the great work!

I apologize ahead of time for posting this as a comment twice. I never got an answer, so I’m going to post it one last time here.
I love the sound clips from the game, and, I'm currently trying to figure out where they are all from in the show's introduction. I believe I have most of them, but 2 elude me.
“Initializing Sub-Warp Transport. Defense Units Inbound”—Sounds Mechanical.
“You find many things here.”—Sounds like a troll/ogre?
The ones I HAVE Identified:
“Good Evening, Ladies and Gentlemen…”—Barnes, Karazhan

I believe the first one might be something from the Toshley's Station event in Blade's Edge Mountains.

I play with the sound off, but I belive the first one is from the Mech gauntlet before the last boss and the second one could be either from Griftah or the Consortium Quartermaster in Netherstorm.

i listened live this week and i forget exactly which parts they were but you guys had me laughing out loud a few times while listening
this was the first wow insider show that i have heard where mike was on. great job leading the show

Dear Mike,
Thank you for ditching the pop headset. I've had to turn the podcast down so low on volume to offset that popping that I could hardly hear anything. I can now turn up the volume and listen to the Turp-a-tron max volume. Boom.

I've started listening to the show and I enjoy it. My one criticism is the background sounds. They don't add anything to the show and tend to distract. Because not everyone's mic is the same quality there are times when it's unlistenable and I need to fast forward.
But I know it's still a work in progress. Can't wait to hear this one!

Algorithm i answered in the last one what i think they clips are.
The robot voice is the patrolling alarm-o-bots from Gnomeragan, and i think the othe one is the guy from the ring of blood in Nagrand, cos that was the only time i can think of that you 'fight many things here'

On the contrary, mic quality is the very reason 'background sounds' (also known as bed-music) is used in the first place. Were it not for that, you'd be treated to background noise and hiss, multiplied by the number of hosts you have on the show. Not pleasant!
I acknowledge however that we've been having some issues of late with the level of the bed music (which should always be present, yet never obtrusive). This is due to the odd auto-leveling system that the broadcast software uses. We're continuing to look into this in an effort to stamp it out for good.

"What would have happened if instead of playing a hunter, he played a mage? Would he try and DPS the moose down... then pop invis and run away-leave his sister to die?"
These are the questions we repeatedly ask ourselves.
I think we'll just have to wait for a mage to aggro a moose, though I've heard counterspell isn't so hot against real world fire spells.

Why be so negative and confrontational? Alliance is not about fighting the Horde.
"Long live the Alliance!" is IMHO much more preferable.

There is a lot of unearned Smack-talk in Alliance PvP. People yelling out commands and then complaining when a point o the map is lost. This leads me to boutique PvP, to choose which battles I will stay in until the end. If the Smack-talk become too belligerent just AFK out of the BG and do something else.
Spending 15 minute debuff gathering mats in much more enjoyable than enduring the Smack-talk of Alliance PvP.
