Breakfast Topic: Best wipe ever
Nibuca at Mystic Chicanery talks about a mob aggro bug in Karazhan that resulted in not just a wipe, not just a spectacular wipe, but the best wipe ever. An out of nowhere, 15 mob pile up that would be a night ending catastrophe if it wasn't so surprising and amusing all at the same time. Like watching a Orc suddenly executing an elegant pirouette.
Have you had a wipe like that?

Anyone remember the Seed of Corruption bug?
My first night ever in Kara, we get past Moroes, then clear the room next to him to make our way to Maiden. On a non-elite pull, I started throwing Seeds around... which used to detonate THROUGH walls. It pulled all the mobs on the other side of the wall, and all the mobs in-between on the way over.

Guild Leader is talking on vent and spells out a link to a website (NSFW) that he got tricked into going to (you know the type).
So, right after he spells out the link, we get a pathing mob aggro on a hunter pet... one of the nOOb locks DoT's it up and draws aggro, then a couple people open up, etc... down the line til everyone of us is dead...
Thena ll the sudden about 10-12 people start asking 'What happened' on vent... they didn't know because a bunch of people had jumped to look at the link instead of paying attention to the instance.
Much laughing later, we made the new rule of no links in chat or vent until after runs.

We had the SoC-though-the-wall bug/feature pull a few packs of mobs on us in Kara. But I am more amazed at wipes when a boss stands with just a 1% of health. Or even a wipe when a boss is killed just as he kills the last member of the raid - lots of cheering from the floor on those occasions.

old days in UBRS, the rend event.. during the beginning of the event i thought i wonder if i can lightning bolt the spectators up top? so i do and nothing Happens.. then just as rend come out, every orc in UBRS comes through the door and wipes the group in about 2 seconds flat.... it just took em a few minutes to run all the way down, pulling tonnes of orcs with em..

I did that with my hunter - after I'd been through a couple of times and knew better... I was just taking my turn to play the noob NE hunter :(

I recall two in Kara that are still being joked about. We had a tank AFK and I think our Druid off-tank was in kitty gear. "Go ahead man, you can tank this..."
The other was a pull of the all-elite group on the top floor of the ballroom along with the AOE group and I think one patrol. Someone (not the raid leader called wipe) and our two tanks turned tail and ran, leaving the rest of us in the dust as we continued to try and manage the situation. We still give our tanks hell for being cowards. :)

We had that exact bug a few weeks ago; we were recovering from a wipe of Shade of Aran when suddenly a horde of spell shades descended on the group in the room right before Shade. We wiped again, needless to say. My favorite wipe ever, though, was right before the final boss in Gnomeragan, with those awful Gnomish Alarm Bots. Invariably my group would be slow on taking one down, and the spawned group would pull other groups, which would pull other groups, and so on... in a few seconds every trash mob between us and the final boss was attacking us. We called it the getting hit by the "Gnome Train."

Back in the BRD days we had a fun wipe. We were going to jump down and fight incendius but as we did, someone in our group aggroed someone and they ran all the way down to us the long way, picking up any and all mobs that wanted to join. We had like 40 guys on us in a few seconds.

Same thing happened to our group. Pretty annoying as it was our 5th wipe that day, but still couldn't help but laugh.

I had a great one the other day, a 70 was speed running me through ST, so we were killing the minimum of mobs, so we kill the ghost guys, and down the prophet and then head to Erkanius, without clearing the dragon mobs in the center. So we have Erkanus down to 25% and I'm standing in the back of the room back-up DPSing and suddenly i get hit my about 35 green dragons that got pulled when we aggroed Erkanius. Wiped our 70 hunter in about 5 seconds.

Anyone still have that picture of the BWL wipe when someone got punted by Broodlord and pulled all three drakes + Chromagus? That was the best wipe ever hands down.

Is this related to Ratshag's 5 Best Wipes meme going around?

While trying to get a good screen shot of our first time trying to take down The Curator in Kara for our website I hit my blink key instead of my "Hide UI" key. Blinked directly into The Curator causing obvious aggro and wiping the entire raid. So much for a first attempt!

We found another fun bug in Kara a few months ago. We skipped Maiden, because, well, why not? Anyways, we were all set up and ready to take down Nightbane and all of us casters and healers in the back thought it was kinda odd that we could hear mobs talking to each other, we knew it was the Maiden's trash but figured it was just some odd positioning which was letting them talk through walls to us. Anyhow, we pull Nightbane and get him down to about 35% or so when our healers all start dying. Why, you might ask?
I turned my camera around and saw a prolific number of Phantom Guardsmen and their hounds beating the hell out us. How they walked through walls to get to us, I don't know. How they got pulled into the fight, I don't know. What I do know is that Nightbane didn't make it down to 30% because those silly ghosts tore through us like a 10yr old opening Christmas presents.

How about... being run through SM cath and the 70 says 'nah, we don't need to clear all of the cath, just the boss...'
50 monks, pally and casters proceed to give the 70 a large repair bill...
