Around Azeroth: Bubble, bubble...
Reader Ankarah sends us this interesting shot from Netherstorm, where we see two Furbolg enjoying an afternoon stroll... Wait... Furbolg? Ankarah is enjoying some of the game's more interesting quest items. If you can't stand to be without Furbolg form, you'll have to be an Alliance character (sorry, Horde!) and complete the Raene's Cleansing in Ashenvale. If you lust after your own lovely glowy bubble, you have to be Alliance (doh!) and complete the Ride the Lightning quest from Toshley's Station.
Do you have any shots highlighting an interesting moment questing throughout the World (of Warcraft)? We want to see them on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@wow.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!

I wonder if horde has any of these lasting quest items.

Now where did I put Archmage Vargoth's Staff.

This almost makes me miss Alliance.

Technically, you have to NOT complete the Raene's Cleansing quest line: you must complete it to the point where you get the furbolg wand, but then not finish the parts where you actually use the wand for its intended use in the quest line. If you do this, you will exchange the wand for a mediocre weapon.

Same thing with the Bubble.. You only need to be on the 'Ride the Lightning' quest and the device to make the bubble is required for the quest.. If you complete the quest and turn the quest it, you lose the ability to get the sphere making device once and for all.

Bah. This is lame. Where's the Horde love. Alliance are OP. nerf furbolgs.
YPEELS40 Dec 21st 2007 12:24PM
the bubble has been nerfed. can only be used in blades edge.
also now u need to keep the quests in ur log or it erases ur quest items.

proof again that blizzard favors alliance
lol

Except the bubble shield only works in BEM zone only now...been expecting one day Blizz will nerf the furblog staff, but they never do (which is quiet surprising)
YPEELS40 Dec 21st 2007 12:37PM
they changed the furbolg rod so that you have to stand still and cast it.. before u could run and cast it.

Cue to Horde whining in three-two... oh, wait, already happened.
Coherent Dec 21st 2007 5:32PM
YOU CAN NOT COMPLETE THE QUEST IF YOU WANT TO KEEP THE ROD OF TRANSFORMATION.
Kind of an important point there...

Yay! That's me and Ankarah playing around. :)

Ankarah here! :)
Thanks for using the photo - and I often think it's totally unfair that the horde don't have a similar quest like the furblog one. And sadly I believe the bubble no longer works outside the Toshley area anymore. Anyone interested in a Flickr set to help you find the quest areas in the furblog chain check here:

Like Coherent said you can't complete the last steps of that quest or you lose the wand. But while the quest rewards are nice for the lvl, you'll soon outlvl their use - but the furblog goofiness lives on.
And if you're an adult looking for an alliance guild that's into raiding and some pvp, yet also doing silly social things like Furblog mobs and partying at the Ironforge Airport - check us out at

We put all our goofy socials into the public area on the forum so you can manage to be nearby to check out the fun if you're interested.
