Breakfast Topic: If you could change one thing...
In this case, the title says it all. I don't think I know a single player who doesn't at least occasionally think themselves smarter than the game's development team, so I ask you this: if you could change one aspect of World of Warcraft, what would it be? Does the PvP system frustrate you? Is the endless reputation grind no fun? Is large-scale raiding not your thing? Is the game just right as it is? If you were on Blizzard's development staff for a day, what would you change?

I Agree with #1.
We should get to put on gear to make the BGs fair...that way we can spend 3 hours in AB/WS/EoS (i would say AV but that would cut the time spent there to about 10 mins instead of the usual 20...horde suck en mass)....what a great waste of time:p

I'd like to see DR on abilities never reset in arena's, or maybe increase the reset time to 5 minutes. That would stop the stunlock/cyclone spam that dominates the 2v2 bracket, and move it back to something that doesn't favor Resto Druids over all other healers.

Cross server LFG interface the same way PvP works. This would make it so much faster to get PuGs together...especially finding a tank or healer when you need one. I hate when I have time to kill during the daytime, decide to do a PuG heroic or something on an alt, and give up after an hour because we couldn't find a PuG tank.
I also think that the quality of PvP gear is actually ruining WoW. (I have 6 lvl70s, all very well-geared, on some I PvP, some I PvE) What is happening is PvEers do PvP just for gear and AFK, suck, etc. just to get gear pieces they are missing. They hate being there and "real" PvPers hate having them there. My solution is make PvP gear way less useful for PvE by making the durability really low so it breaks really fast while PvEing. PvPers wouldn't care as the gear still suits their needs, but would keep a lot of PvEers from doing the "necessary evil" of PvP as I have heard it referred to. It seems that this fix would also allow Blizz to more easily balance the PvP and PvE sides of WoW.

Make windfury proc off spamstring again.

Retool old world raids for 10 and 25 raids. take away any attunements or simply make them integrated to general questing and dungeons. Also make all old world raids lvl range start at 57 so you have time go through them and aquire whatever armor/wep/items you want. This way they arent wasted on new players or just old ones started alts. And when Wrath comes out do the same thing to BC raids!!

Simple, get rid of Premade BGs
Sm Dec 27th 2007 8:13AM
If i could change WOW: All players entering battlegrounds or arena, wouldhave to select a pre-made set of armor to use while in that bg that session..one for casters and one for melee, and maybe one hybrid. This way the playing field is leveled for all players.
I would also remove fear from all chars/classes that wear plate, and remove all ranged attacks from rogues, and their vanish would not remove my dots.
hpavc Dec 27th 2007 8:14AM
halo is that way ============>
Abbot Dec 27th 2007 8:45AM
Vanish doesn't remove dots. I'd much rather swallow a ranged attack from a rogue than melee attacks... don't complain lol

Sm did you parents drop you on your head as a kid?! WTF would be the point of gearing your chara for PVP if you got shiny armor? I gear my rogue so I can work ppl in PVP (ps which isn't going very well :/)! To 'level the playing field' is in direct contradiction to PVP gear. Also, I am tired of ppl QQn about Cloak of Shadows when a priest can put seven or so dots on you with one macro! Next time you have a thought...let it go (Ron White). It is only right that someone who has cleared Black Temple or SSC stomp all over someone who is only starting Kara. They have obviously put more time into the game and deserve 'special' ass-kicking gear. Now one thing I would change in WoW would be a special server, like the test realm with chara copies, that has no respec cost that would allow you to try out new specs. Maybe even let you test armor that is within your reach (eg If you guild has cleared some bosses in Kara you would be able to choose loot from that boss to try out). Changing gear/spec is a big decision.

@SafetyDancer
The way I see it is this; If we could have premade 70's fully geared for PvP ONLY then we could use points we won with them to buy gear on our mains, this would even the playing field and, in my opinion, make PvP a hell of a lot more fun.
Xeren Dec 27th 2007 3:06PM
I'm sorry but i agree with 1. As someone who doesn't have enough time to fully gear out for a BG, i would love to have standard BG gear to level the playing field. I know everyone voted 1 down because they spent so much time getting that gear, but BG's aren't fun for everyone else who doesn't do that.
That's why I know longer enter BG's. At one point, my hunter kited a rogue the ENTIRE way across WSG and didn't kill him, because he had been twinked so heavily. If you're better than someone, you should be able to kill them- that's just how it should be if the BG's were even close to "fair".
I'll never understand why some people love twoshotting people, not because of skill, but because of the difference in the amount of time and money they've spent on their character versus their enemy's.
Safety Dancer Dec 27th 2007 3:19PM
@Lucas
Your missing the point dude...PVP is not ment to be even its suppose to be used to match you overall playing skills with other players, and playing skills include time...
@Xeren
WoW is not ment for a 'casual' player, plain and simple, you want a casual game go play something else...
I have been around the 'MMO Block.' I have played Eve, EQ, SWG, The Matrix Online, Guild Wars, and a bunch of shitty free ones. Trust me we have it real good with WoW. 9 mill cant be wrong...
Xeren Dec 27th 2007 3:56PM
@ Safteydancer
Playing skills do not include time. Time is not a skill.
You can become a better player by playing more and learning the ins and outs of BG's, but the amount of time you spend grinding for welfare epics is not a skill. That's quite possibly the worst argument i've heard for anything, ever.
And WoW is meant to be played by casual and hardcore alike. Were it not, Blizz wouldn't have introduced the BG matching system, which was a step in the right direction, if not a fix.

The one thing I can think of off the top of my head:
Would it really be THAT HARD for them to show if a character has mail on the character log-in screen? Seriously?
Lole Dec 27th 2007 8:16AM
remove resilience from game and flying mounts (they ruined world pvp)
issacobra Dec 27th 2007 9:37AM
so true. Blizz wonders why no one specs daggers. hmmm... i wonder...
dsimon Dec 27th 2007 10:19AM
unfortunately, i'm the only raid swords rogue in a guild with 4 other ass/sub dagger rogue-tards. Yes, they raid with daggers. Is it any wonder we can't down Nightbane?
Windleaf Dec 30th 2007 6:13PM
I would get rid of CC.
Lios Dec 27th 2007 8:22AM
Get casuals more involved with lore by putting special characters in smaller instances. Now only hardcore raiders get to see the true big names in Warcraft history. Kael'thalas in a 5 men heroic is a start.
